Hello everyone. Just had a question for those that have accomplished the delete on the bumpers. I have seen wraps, dips, bed liner, paint and powder coating used to cover up or replace the chrome. Im leaning more in the direction or permanent vs temporary.

For those that went the permanent route, which did you use, how has it held up over time and what was the cost?

I have inquired locally about powder coating but they wont do chrome removal (dustless sandblasting) due to some environmental regulations.

I went the rattle can bedliner route. I used Krylon brand. It has held up against rocks, bugs, brush, and can even be high pressure washed.

What route did you use to prep it? Dustless blasting?

I just scuffed it all by hand and then used a self-etching primer.

I had my front bumpers sand blasted and painted. Came out great.

Had my bumper caps stripped and had them sprayed the same color as the truck. Best route in my opinion for longevity. But the most $$.
