Body mount gummed up with spray on bed liner

hi I’m looking to install some bed stiffeners and I need to remove the body mount I’m attached picture.
The issue is they sprayed over it and the t55 torx won’t fit in there.
Has anyone ever removed the liner material and if so what did you use?
Wanted to ask in here before I hacked away at it

you dont really have to use it. i just tried to keep it as clean as possible, it helps soften up the liner too.

 

I would NOT slice it off. I did that on one of mine and I regretted once I realized all you have to do is go with a smaller Torx bit. These bolts are not torqued very much, they back out pretty easily. I was able to remove them and keep the liner on them.

 

This and i just use a flat tip screw driver no torque bit required.

 

I used a pick to remove the liner from the torx socket, came out in one chunk.

 

I used needle nose pliers and it came off pretty good.
I tried the smaller torx and flathead but it wouldn’t seat well in there

mine were quite tough to get out. regardless I advise OP to please use the right size to prevent any other headaches that might occur with the wrong tools/sizes.

 

Got it all taken care of! Just peeled off and used the proper torx thanks everyone
