Both these LED display devices show signs of a low voltage situation.
I've had the console bezel off a number of times (Mostly looking for the dreaded dash rattle) and cannot attest to all connections as secure as original but nothing seems out of order.
The damn thing (clock and radio) will go through short periods where it all looks OK, but it don't last.
The clock will go hyper, bright, dark, slow, normal in no particular order.
The display on the radio looks like Egyptian hieroglyphics (spell check!).

I think it is a ground.

I changed the alternator because I could see how that might do it, and the Auto Advance NAPA Roko guy tested and said I needed to buy one from him, so I did. Did not help, but I now have the loudest diodes in the neighborhood.

    My questions are these:

Does this sound like a grounding issue?
If so, what grounds should I look for?

Or even better, where are the grounds for the dash, clock and radio?

Or another thought, both the clock and the radio are hooked up so they dim when the lights are on. Could that point to a source?

    Thanks.

Can you take a video of the issues and post it via YouTube? It may help explain what you're seeing.

    Is this a new install?
If not, has it worked before and for how long?
Is the clock part of the headunit or a stand alone clock part of the truck that comes from the factory?

radio is aftermarket and clock is part of the controls bezel for AC, etc.
The AM radio is fed from the power source originally feeding the original radio.
The issue lies with the circuit the two have in common, IMO.

I have a short video, gotta post it s
    ome place other than work.
