    IMHO, wet sand and buff is not going to help you with that. The only thing wet sand and buff will accomplish is thinning your paint.

    Wet sand and buff will only help those defects that won't catch your finger nail, or very discrete SHALLOW defects that can be blended without going through the clear. To my eye, that little ding close to the bed rail appears considerably more pronounced than catching a nail and is broad rather than discrete.

    In your place, I would quit thinking about "the ripple effect" and forget about it. In a few weeks, you won't see the defect once you quit looking for it. Character mark.
