Yes agree. Try clearing your average by holding down the display button while on your average screen after a fill up and see if that changes anything. The idle time will dramatically effect the readout too.

Got Tundra as it was about to turn 36k miles in Sept, just hit 40k mikes now, did one 1200 mi trip to AZ and 50/50 Hwy/street driving = 10.5 avrg mpg. 6” lift on 20” wheels and 12.5x35” tires.

    Still no regrets. No do-overs.

^^This^^ Yeah one of the blemished sides of one of the best trucks out there. I was pretty much averaging the same, and Im not one to lay on it. But this last fill up, I decided to try ethanol free (www.pure-gas.org). Station was nearby but a bit obscure. I may have overpaid for 92 ($4.20) but since have averaged very first 16.8+ mpg, of course my eyes did a double take when I saw 17.4 for about 10 miles. Will monitor and on next feeding session will try the 87.

For the love of God and all that is holy, can everyone stop referring to the mileage on the computer read out? It’s a decent reference but all that goes out the window if you have a lift, oversized tires and nothing to correct it. Everyone should be hand calculating for there to be any truth in your MPG‘s. If you are oversized without corrections, you need to use GPS to be accurate. Next time it happens, someone’s getting banned LMFAO @ColoradoTJ ?

    1) People don't figure the actual, annual cost difference between two different mileages (say, 12 mpg and 16 mpg), so they don't realize it's not that much money for people who put an average number of miles per year on their truck.

    2) If you pay the truck off [I know, I know], driving it gets real cheap.

    3) Lift and bigger tires ... bad things happen to mpgs

    4) Who gives a shit? [This is a big one. Apparently, some people actually do give a shit,
but cannot adequately explain why they bought the Tundra.]

    5) Calculate beer temperature: it's much more fun.

    6) Long term reliability makes poor gas mileage a TINY concern.

    7) MPG Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is a real condition.

I was driving a 2007 suburban 2500 that gave me between 7.5 and 8mpg on average. The Tundra is giving me 12mpg. That's a win all day!

Mine is close but I would never state it as fact without hand calculation. Many are inaccurate and I swear many of them never reset it. Either way when people talk about mpg they need to use the same method always. It’s just too inconsistent.

    Also beat to death.

    America is a rotting corpse.

I got a Tundra to help me through the apocalyptic hellscape we are fastly approaching. Ground clearance, power and reliability was what I was after. MPG isn't as important to me as how much gas I can haul and how far up into the hills I can get.
