Do all Tundra's need a firm foot on the brake pedal??? or is it just mine. I almost kissed a Prius this morning when I was half awake. LOL

It was while I was stopped at a light... probably not enough coffee! I have to keep a heavy foot on the brake pedal while stopped. Wondering if it is an idle problem... or if it is just a Tundra thing.

    Brake travel at all?

I just use my toe while at a stop light. Doesnt take much at all

Same as my wifes Rav 4 so I am guessing not much pressure

Your brakes are probably worn out. I experienced this as well, replaced the front pads and rotors and now just a light foot keeps me stopped at lights

Quite a bit of brake travel... but it doesn't seem excessive. If I drive the wifes 4Runner... it usually sticks my head in the steering wheel the first time I brake...LOL

well its probably not that then! i think the tundra has more pedal travel than other cars, you will get used to it. Don't forget that 35s also make your effective gear ratio higher. It will travel much faster at idle than a stock tundra.

My brakes were fine till the dealer replaced them after my last service, now i have to apply alot more pressure on the pedal to stop. Plan on having the dealership where I live now look at them during my next scheduled service.

Mine is the same way. I have 6k miles now. I think you just have to get used to it.

    Lost track after #1.
Might have some air in the lines or someone opened the reservoir and it now has water in it (hygroscopy).

That sounds plausible about air in the lines. I think I will bleed them this weekend just to see.

I dont like how Toyota brakes feel...Ive had 3. They dont "feel" good, or give feedback...but if you stomp on them the work great. I prefer Ford brakes to anything else.

I just did new rotors from break performance.com with Toyota pads. Easy pedal pressure and very grabby. The stock rotors were made of ice or something. I had to mash the pedal.

That's because the truck was at high idle and not warmed up yet.

I have noticed the truck is in high idle for a couple of minutes while sitting in the driveway. When I was creeping on the Prius at a light, I had already run a good 10 miles in it.

It all depends. It could be ten minutes if the parameters it's looking for are not met.
Mine is usually 5-10 minutes, depending.
