Looking for some options for an aftermarket alarm. My garage was broken into yesterday and they stole my spare set of keys for my 18 Tundra. They also got my new to me front speakers I just bought off the forum, a few drills and my roommates shotgun. They didn't clean me out but enough to make it hurt.

I have the 12volt solutions remote start but would look into an all in one remote starter extended range with an alarm.

    Thanks for the ideas!

Sorry to hear that! That’s sucks.
    Freaking thieves hate them!

I got viper alarm and remote start all in one.
And I got the viper app too were I can start it from anywhere, and it also tells me where my truck is at all times.

Did you install it yourself? I put on the remote start last year and it was pretty simple . Just one wire to solder .

If they have your keys I might be thinking of a kill switch. Could be inexpensive and effective.

No I didn’t install it myself! When it comes to electrical stuff, it’s not my cup of tea lol.

I hear you there . Im gearing up to install new speakers and an amp. Ive been trying to read as much as I can on the wiring and make a step by step list on my plan of attack

But first i have to get an alarm .

    Haha right on, good luck!

When I got my audio system installed, I decided why not an alarm too! So the installer put on everything in one day included a dash camera.

I have a Viper SmartStart System for my 2015 Tundra and a Compustar (not sure the model) for my 94 Toyota Hilux. I am more attracted to Compustar which is just a personal preference.

I just had a Solace S2 installed. The compustar looked awesome but they wanted 800+ for it.
The S2 is remote start with an added alarm. The remote has a 4000 ft range. I went practical and didn't get the fancy lcd screen. The lady at the front desk said that the screens on the LCD ones are easy to break and they want 125 for a new screen. I have a button key fob with led indicators that let you know when it starts. That is going to be nice when winter rolls around next year. Hell might even use it this summer to cool the truck down.

Had two trucks with kill switches.
1- had to have turn signal set for a left
1- cigarette lighter had to be pushed in

Next one: seat belt buckled before it starts

I've had Viper alarms in the past and was always happy with them. Haven't purchased an alarm in several years though, but might look into it. Can never be too safe.

I like. Never really heard of anything but hidden toggle type switch.

A safe conscious thief will buckle up and not know the difference. lol

The thief can have it as long as he promotes safety. The TSS will stop him lol
