I'm brand new to this forum. Having mixed feelings about letting my 2015 Tacoma go. Is the 2013 Tundra Platnium a good choice? How reliable are all the electronic "Goodies"? I need the power for towing. However don't want a money pit. I've always had good toyotas so far.
Your thoughts are appreciated.......

Welcome to the site.

Sell your Tacoma outright. You will have no issues with that, trust me.

I like the body style of the 2nd Generation trucks, but as Sean said, the 3rd gen interiors are much better in my opinion.

The electronics are normally very reliable on Toyota vehicles in general.

I agree with Chris ^^ Taco's are hot sellers, even here in stodgy old New England.
Clean, nice, lo-mile Tundra's tend to be expensive. Right now, the dealers are working real hard to clear 2016 inventory.
Maybe you can find a new '16 at an extraordinary price. Just sayin'.
Tundra's are as strong as a redwood stump. You won't be disappointed.

I should add, the 2nd gens do not have any electronic issues. I was half lit when I read your post last night.

I somehow read it that you were looking at a 2013 vs 2015 and my point was that 2014+ interior was completely redone to "keep up" with the times.

Plat model is a great truck too! A few other options that the Limited (trim level below) doesn't include.

Welcome 408jakes. I looked at both new and used Tundras when searching, and ended up with a 2015 4x4 CM SR5. The interiors are much nicer on the newer trucks, just whatever your budget allows. I would look at a 2014 or newer if possible. My 2015 is my first Tundra, but have owned many Toyotas throughout life. I Tow, Off-Road and daily drive my CM and absolutely love it. I think you will be happy with any of the years, just aim for the 5.7 if you plan on towing. Best of luck to you...........

Agree with above, sell the taco outright. I got $3,500 more for my '08 4Runner selling it on Craigslist vs what the dealer offered. Had so many replies that I lost track of who was who. Had a guy give me a deposit via PayPal to hold it and had to turn everyone else down meanwhile. That guy bought it. I'll always buy Toyota trucks for that reason. As for your decision, if it's the power you need then you won't be disappointed.
