trailer brake not working

    2018 Toyota tundra crewmax trd
    im following threads about the toyota company possibly fixing this issue. mine worked fine for a couple months, then the disconnect problem for a few weeks. now it doesnt even register I have a trailer. not happy, im sure brake replacement for my truck will run 2k plus. not to happy with a necessary safety product not working correctly

    TRD Pro grille, 2018 LED Headlights, Undercover Flex bed cover, Neoprene seat covers, Bed/tailgate mats, Power tailgate lock, auto headlights, illuminated key switch
    One way to diagnose: multimeter.

    I was sad I couldn't get a factory bc on my 4.6L. After hearing the stories, I'm glad I couldn't.
