Neck Breakers

Since I began the modding process on my Tundra I've noticed something about other drivers.

They darn near break their neck trying to get the full view as I drive past. I had a guy in a pretty new 4 Runner just about run off the road as he was staring down my rig.

Now granted my truck is in the early process of modding and only has a few upgrades but it makes me feel good. I've talked to a few of my truck buddies and they all agree that seeing a Tundra hooked up with the right gear is a sight to see.

How about the rest of ya, any good stories about breaking some necks.....figuratively of course.

I see plenty of people checking my girl out, and I’ve caught a few guys snapping pictures. I heard “man that is a badass truck” about fifty times over the weekend.
People at gas stations compliment it regularly. The mailman at my office asked if he could take pics and bring his wife to show it to her.

My favorite was when I was at a red light, and saw a woman elbowing her husband and pointing at my truck. Yeah man, your girl is checking out another guy’s truck, and asking why you don’t have one. That’s gotta hurt.

 

Must be a Hoosier thing, I drove my Tundra up to Indy Thanksgiving 2017 and broke a bunch of necks.

 

Twisting heads off daily

 

I get a gaze followed by a nod pretty often. Sometimes Toyota guys, several times from Raptor guys oddly enough. I usually get compliments on how it sounds, especially when I take it to those car washes where you sit on a patio having coffee and waiting on the guys to wash it. When people hear it rumbling out of the car wash tunnel they all look.

Once, maybe the best but most annoying, I walked into a carwash to pay and heard a real mean V8 revving up. I looked outside to see what it was... it was mine! The guy who did the vacuum got in to drive through the wash and must have got excited when he turned the truck on. He threw a few revs and his buddies surrounded the truck smiling saying "otro!" (Again). For a second I was mad, but then I recognized it as a compliment. I yelled "Con cuidado compa!" (Careful buddy) and they smiled and nodded. I walked back in thinking damn that did sound good.

It's a Tundra thing! The vehicle size, proportions, smooth flowing lines, grill, and rear end treatments all blend extremely well! As an example the new Fords, when you look at the front it seems the front lighting covers approximately 80% of the grill, seriously, I think it looks atrocious. Be that as it may, once Tundras are fitted with the appropriate mods, they all seem to blend seamlessly enhancing the great looks of the truck further!
We've noticed a lot of rubber necking and comments, when people just walk up and say nice truck MAN!!

 

Nice wheels, what are they?

 

They have this T2 sitting at the lot close by house, looks so much like yours, it's been there about a month

 

My wife makes fun of me cuz only dudes like my truck. It’s always some goofy dude giving me a thumbs up. Never hot chicks. Hahaha.

 

Everyone and their mother has a jacked up & modified truck around here so they're a dime a dozen. That being said mine still gets quite a few looks and the occasional compliment at the gas station. There are only a couple of Tundras besides mine that have been modified/lifted. The rest are Fords (lots of Raptors), GMs and Dodges. There are also TONS of really nice Jeeps around here too. I'd say they equal the number of all the rest of the manufacturers put together.

 

Also definitely get a lot of looks and compliments on the color! Cement #1!

I could go on and on about the looks,pictures and people waiting outside stores and places its parked to ask about it!
Seen a few guys get smacked for lookin' at it too
Most fun is when someone is with me and they notice people lookin
Chicks can stay off my truck.

 

My wife hates it that every place I go some one comes up and says nice truck or ppl starring at us haha

 

My wife is the same way. A couple people she has said please don't encourage this type of behavior. btw your truck is BA

all the time. get guys coming up to talk to me as well as the 'look at that truck' after I've parked it. have even had a couple offers to buy (not gonna happen)

This is the first vehicle I've owned that I'm truly happy with and the wife gave me carte blanche to upgrade as I see fit just as long as the bills get paid lol.

The wife told me that one of her work suppliers commented on the truck being bad ass and he drives a loaded out Cummins diesel.

 

Let's see this truck. I'm in suspense this hole time. O and what part of Indiana?

That's pretty sweet looking truck! I think this is the first time I see a quicksand with bronze wheels. Looks cool.

PS - I should look at the quicksand thread more often.

 

I know right! I know I don't have. So I just ran outside now and took one.
