Can any one shed some light or offer their experiences with adding side steps to their Tundra. That is my next mod, and currently in the running are:
    • ICI Magnum RT Side Steps
    • N-Fab Podium Steps
Kind of a similar look, both appear to bolt right on thanks to Tundras foresight of providing pre-drilled and tapped holes into the unitized portion of the frame.

Just curious of maybe the workmanship, quality, and robustness of the above products/install, and /or any other products out there that Tundra owners are happy with. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

0411191259[2566].jpg I have no use for Cab Length bars, so I bought ICI's Wheel To Wheel 4 inch in Stainless. They've been on my truck for 8 years and are holding-up great. Wife is 4' 10", so bars go on our vehicles right away!

Looks good, I would go for the matte black, did yours just simply bolt on, and the bolts have never loosened up, or do you check them periodically.

Thank you BlackRiverGuy, yep, they bolted-up with no drilling. I checked 'em a couple times over the years but I loaded them up with Red Loc-Tite. So far, they haven't budged.

Thank you CMB, I will also use Loc-Tite in conjunction with the 30 ft./lbs. of torque as recommended by the manufacturer. Two last questions, how has the power coat held up, I notice you are in MD where you probably have salt to deal with during the winter and being on the East coast (ocean effects), I'm thinking that won't be an issue living in Arizona, also I can't get a feel from any of the photos that I've seen about ground clearance. I installed a 3" front and 1" rear lift/level kit and larger tires which now gives me 11" clearance to the the bottom of the rear diff. We frequently travel on Native American Jeep Trail roads, and am concerned about bottoming out if the side steps protrude to far down. Thank you in advance for your help and assistance in answering my questions.

Powder coatings should hold up very well.

if worried about clearance, should consider sliders or a lower profile step like the Tyger steps that look like sliders.

If you’re offroad at all, you will eventually smash your steps. Just a matter of time, I can almost guarantee it. Just go straight to sliders now. You won’t regret it.

NFab , simple and keeps pretty good clearance. Straight bolt to frame

My Bars are Stainless, so no Powder Coat involved. My "Pavement Princess/Garage Queen" will never see off-road, so I can't comment there. Like proRob says, your best bet would be a pair of Sliders, they should offer the best of both worlds!

Westin hdx are another great choice. I’ve been dragging my feet for months trying to decide which side steps to go with. My main concern is how low the step drops as I don’t have nor plan on getting a lift, so I don’t want a low hanging step, would prefer level with the mounting location...tough to decide when you only get a few generic pics and can’t see in person...

Thank you for all of your input, certainly helps in making a decision, on what I thought originally was a pretty simple mod install. I'm leaning towards the powder coat, and will look a little further into the ground clearance issue, the Jeep Trails we drive on (Native American roads) are a little rough but not to the extreme of lets say rock crawling/climbing.
