JBL upgrade

I just finished installing the tech12volt speaker and amp upgrade and the results are amazing. I did the Hertz in the doors with the dash speakers and a 10”JL W1 powered by the stadium 5. This setup absolutely rocks. James was super helpful and prices/service are fantastic.

 

How hard is the sub and amp install, just about to wrap up my last door on the speaker install.

 

Hardest part of amp is running the wire through the grommet. Once that’s done it’s pretty easy.

 

I am considering getting his jbl upgrade kit. Did the kit you got need new speaker wires run for the doors or was there a harness that allowed you to bypass the amp that is already there. If I am mistaken I apologize because stereo installation is something I know nothing about.

 

I used the factory wiring. The DSR1 allows you to bypass the factory amp and provides signal processing. Just need to run power wire from the battery to the new amp. All the other wires connect into factory harness and new amp using DSR1.

 

Bypassing as in replacing?

 

To be clear, I don’t have the jbl in my truck now I am just thinking about getting the kit from tech12volts.

Is this the kit you got? As my understanding I shouldn’t need a dsr1.

 

I don’t know enough about audio equipment but I want to add the kit I linked above to my 19 crewmax without the jbl radio. I just don’t know if this system replaces the amp that’s in there or bypasses it.

 

I had the JBL stereo so I’m not sure about the stock stereo. I’m pretty sure that set up replaces the factory amp. James@tech12volts will be able to help you out.
