    Howdy,

Just read a BUNCH of posts about this maddening problem after it happened to my 2019 on it's first tow. But couldn't find a resolution...

Called one dealer and they said an ECU flash but couldn't accommodate my trailer so had to head to next town and their service guys can't find or acknowledge problem or fix. This seems typical by the responses from last year. They said they need it for at least a day...

So my questions: Was it ever "fixed" so I can somehow get the service guys to perform THAT fix tomorrow?

Was some sort of harness/adaptor ever found for the Tekosha brake controller? I have a P3 if I can plug and play and get rolling.

My problem is full time RV'er and can't hang around for too long. I have other appointments in town I'm in and can't spend days with Toyota scratching their heads over this. Drove 200 miles with no trailer brakes... Down shifting did fine and never had a brake issue but I'm not going to do it again...

    Dang it!

    Thanks,

    greg

    So!

    YES! There IS!

    Supposedly... TSB 0036-19 Came out April 1st (not a joke! :D )

One dealership found it for me while others had no clue and wanted Tundra all day long. Was able to pass the information to another dealer who then looked it up and can get me in and out in 1 hour...

I spoke with one dealer and they argumentatively said no such TSB so be persistent.

Service guy who found and told me about said 100% successful so far... we'll see... I won't be able to hitch up and take a trip till Sunday...

I'll check back later about today's experience..

I'm at the dealer for my 10k as I write this. Mentioned the symptoms and that there might be a TSB for it. The service advisor seemed open minded about it, said they'd look it up and I saw her write some notes regarding the symptoms on the work order.

My dealer searched for this TSB 0036-19 and the system came back said no documents found.

They hooked it up to their tester and said it is working fine. They need me to drag the trailer down to diagnose the issue further. :(

Greg can you screenshot the dealer notes on the TSB to verify the number?

Was able to get local dealer to reprogram ECU. See attached work order.

Took abut 2 hours with the collision sensor TSB included.

Haven't been able to do a tow yet but connected and ran Tundra for 5 minutes shifting gears and hitting brakes etc.

Hassle for me to tow till Sunday but I'll try to do a short one sooner and report further results.

Again not all dealers seem to be able to find the TSB for some reason... Show them my work order!

    Good luck!

Ok so service advisor got back to me when I picked up the truck that they found a service bulletin related to my issue but said it was not specifically for my truck however they ordered a new brake relay with bracket and it's back ordered right now but they will get it in a couple weeks and install under warranty. I saw the notes on it but they kept those notes to themselves. Once it gets serviced I'll report back.
