For the offroaders, what do you guys use for trash storage on the trail? Black trash bags don't last and I end up with liquid/beer and junk all over the truck bed.
I saw @osidepunker using a Trasharoo on the last Mohave trip report, would you recommend it?

Been using a collapsible trashcan with black bags, which works great until you hit the trail again or even worse....head home at 80mph.

    Thanks guys

Trasharoo. Works great. My favorite part about it is that you can just fold it out and hose it off. It’s also got drain holes in it, should you get any fluid in it.

I HATE the damn trasharoo! You can't put any bottles in it or they get destroyed and tear up the bag (I don't bring bottles, but other people do and they end up in my bag). Every time you open it you get a big cloud of dust in your face and dirt up to your elbows. The plastic clips on the straps are garbage and the fabric fades quick in the sun.

With that said, I can't think of any other way to store trash. I used to just throw everything in the bed and clean it up when I got home, but trash tends to fall out of my shock holes in the bed and it sucks having to pick through your whole bed gathering trash. Keeping it in the bed would make it less dirty/dusty, but I don't really have room anywhere in the bed. It's pretty cheap so I'll just replace it when it gets all fckd up.

We use to use a dedicated cooler for trash, an old of course.

Thanks for the input guys. It sounds like the Trasharoo is the best option out there currently, but could use some updates.
For the price, it's the way to go...for now.

A lot of the guys I wheel with in S. Utah use mesh fabric trash bags and they seem to work well. I just put my trash in Alex's trasharoo and works great for me.

doesn't the trasharoo rub onto the bed when loaded ? I mean it's fine if over a tire like the Jeep guys.
I just carry the trash in my bed and unload at the first gas station pit stop.

10920_sealline_Boundarydrypack-115liters_yellow_angleview.jpg This is what I use for trash. I don't have a picture so I googled an image. It's an old SeaLine boundary waters duffle bag. I just turn it inside out and hose it off to clean it. I haven't tried hanging it from the tailgate but it should be easy enough to rig it with the backpack straps to hang it. It's waterproof, open top and totally sealable.

Wrong color, but it'll end up looking like shit after the first trail run anyway. A lot bigger than I thought too
Thanks for the input! Seems like I may need to customize the straps to fit the tailgate...did you guys just cinch the hell out of them or cut and customize?

Some over-landing folks use another product called Ghost Wild Truck Ruck. More expensive, but they claim it lasts longer than the Trasharoo.
