Toyota Mt help

Bought October 2017 and all 4 are already cracking. Going next Saturday to have them looked at and see if I qualify for warentee. Toyo gives you "tread credit" they won't replace, they give you money off a new set. I think that's trash but its their policy. Love the tires and they have a ton of meat left. totally bummed this is happening. Looking for suggestions on new rubber similar to the MT that will last and not crack! I definitely want another 285/70/R18 though. I can use the credit toward a different brand of tire as well.

 

I'd look at the tire date code. I wonder if they are old but sold as new.

Haha crazy right? I'm so bummed out. Kinda scared to get another pair if they are gonna dry and crack like that in 2 years. I don't have too many miles on them either.

 

Just want a tire that will last. Hahah

 

Whats the milage on your tires? There are a several factors that can lead to dry rot, tire dressing, wheel and tire de-greasers, weather conditions etc.

 

About 10,000. The sidewall where I put the tire dressing is fine it's up top around the lugs that's cracking. I live in Mass so Winters are cold summers are hot that could be part of the problem but I would think for such a reputable Tire you could take a little beating. Looking for an aggressive Tire that will last more than 2 years and not dry out.

 

I have had good luck with my bfg ko2s ik not an mt but they are a good tire.

 

I looked at a Jeep on a used lot that had a set of Toyo At2 on it and they looked brand new as far as wear but were cracked all to hell around the tread. I think in their case it was probably the use of tire shine.

 

Dunno why my last two were blank. But I think I might stay away from them if that's the tend. The KO2's are defiantly in the line up.

 

I doubt they’re going to start falling apart. I think you should just keep an eye on them and get your moneys worth out of wear, instead of a rebate.

They look superficial, or only at the surface.

 

My Nitto MT did the same almost a year in a half in also kinda sucks

 

I'm by no means a professional on this but a tire guy told me that it's kinda like dry skin it will crack but it will hold up. As long as they are not loosing lugs and the cracks are not real deep like if the truck just sits for a long time in the heat never driven.

 

Roger that. I just noticed them and freaked out. That's all I need. Coming in hot down the highway and KABOOM! Hahaha. They look superficial. I'm gonna get them checked and see what they say. TBH I would rather be told they are fine I love the tires hahaha.

 

Yea if I had my truck at home right now I would check them today also but unfortunately it's at the body shop right now. But I almost guarentee I have cracking between my tire lugs also because Indiana has some crazy weather.

 

When you get it back throw a photo up. I would like to see if it's normal or if i got a bad batch.

 

Ok mine are bfg but I'm almost sure they have some between the lugs also.
