I’ve found a couple of threads regarding Katzkin leather seats, but most seem to have taken them to a shop to install them on their truck.

Has anyone attempted the installation themself? If so, any tips and what tools should I have in hand?

I ordered a set yesterday. I want to attempt the installation myself.

    Thanks
    Ed.

Yes I’ve done a good amount. Really no tips its just r&r old cloth to the new leather. Make sure you have hog ring pliers. 41e8af1b7e99ac652830b7ef49d329ec_8890f05407933245267a34db2dd4564b413edf92.jpg

Should add some seat heating pads since your already there. Check Amazon or eBay for kits.

I think I've read that you have to unhook the battery or something? Something about airbags?

Yes, since the front seats have airbags I think its recommended that you disconnect the battery. I took the last week of december off so I could have more than enough days to install these. I’ll take as many pictures as I can!

Well I installed them, took me a week, I’ve never done this so I took my time. I’ll post pictures later, I need to organize them.

The seat that gave me the most trouble was the upper part of the front middle child seat, it comes apart easy but putting the leather on was a bit of a pain.

The other seats just take up time dissasembling and removing the original covers, basically just time consuming but not difficult.

For the headrest I did not use the vacuum method, I just tried to compress them as much as I could by hand, enough to slip on the leather.
