hey all, I normally am not under the hood of my truck as it has been such a great truck to me! I normally spend my wrench turning “abilities” under the cowling of usually mid 50’s model Cessna 182’s but my alternator went out yesterday on Tonka yes his name is Tonka Toy! I hear its a pain but literally have not even got past the idler pulley so do you have to have a tension device or will a breaker bar work?

I just replaced mine. I took a long 1/2in ratchet to move the tensioner and then was able to remove the belt and replace it with a new one. It only took about 15 min. It is a little tight to get your hands in there but it is possible.
