so I have a brand new tundra platnum CM. It has 259 miles on it. And I have noticed when I close the rear doors there is added effort required to close door (Ie it doesn’t fully latch closed when closing the door only if you kind of slam it) the strikers are all aligned properly. But if a any door or window is open or cracked the doors close properly. Leaving me to think there is a stuck closed “pressure bypass flap” anyone had this issue or know where the “pressure bypass flap” would be located in the cab?

In between the cab and bed behind the back seat towards the outer most edge. You will have to pull the back seat to check.

Try this, roll down one of your windows and then try it. It could be the pressure in the cab. If it closes easier with the window down then that is what it is. I had a truck like this before and my crew max tundra is doing this too. I believe it’s just the pressure inside the truck. Hope what I am saying is making sense.

The back doors of my 2nd gen dc also seem to require more force to close.

Im always turning back around after ive given the door a swing cause they often dont latch.

Ive greased the visible hinges but didnt help. Ive just come to live with it. Its annoying though.

My 07 DC rear doors have always been that way. I just make sure I give them a manly push when I close them..

The doors are fairly light and the rubber seals/weatherstripping are new. Give her a little extra on it when you close it and don’t sweat it.

Haha mine have all done it too. My TrailblazerSS was low enough that I could watch the roof rise and fall when closing the doors. Sometimes it even felt like my ears were being boxed.

Well talked to a tech at Toyota and they said it’s a design flaw that the pressure vents are too small they use the same as the double cab. There is no fix there Solution was to leave a window cracked.

A design flaw, with a Toyota... Well Shux, i thought these things were perfect, except for cam tower seep, tss issues, trailer brake controller... Now i have small vent syndrome. Still love driving it though.
