    Howdy,

Still prepping my 2019 for first tow... putting easy miles on it as recommended. At an RV park that was was tricky to get in and out of so wont tow till leaving (I towed in with my Tacoma and bought the Tundra.. so not hitched up yet)

I thought I saw mention that the stock brake controller was not very good....but found no specifics.

I have a Prodigy I could install but imagine the plug and play harness has been removed with the stock option. Not sure if I could just unplug the stock one and adapt the Prodigy... etc...

I'll probably go with stock to start and find out for myself but curious if it really is any good or so bad I need to start planning to replace.

I full time RV so towing is my lifestyle! :D

I towed my Winnebago 20 ft camper for the first time last week. The built in Toyota brake controller worked fine. Gave it a plus 3 gain, and it was working well.

Personally I love the factory controller just because it's integrated. It doesn't have as many extras as my Tekonsha P3 had, but honestly I didn't use most of that stuff anyway.
