It's not bad, just 'so 12 years ago'. Because the Tundra platform essentially hasn't changed since the 2nd gen was launched.

Also, you're the 3rd person to start a thread on this. It might get combined with another; I hop you won't mind. @ColoradoTJ shut one of them down, only because they're duplicates.

None! I tow a boat weekly
New test criteria for an older truck design. The only truck that passed the test was the Honda Ridgeline which isnt really a truck.
The new Tundra will ace the new tests when it’s released.

    excellent video, thanks for posting!

pretty poor performance on the Tundras part. had I seen that before buying it might've influenced my choice.

That’s the easy part. It’s getting others not to crash into you that’s the real bitch.

My issue with the test is, when this type of crash occurs you are usually crossing the center line and hitting another car....not a solid steel wall. The other car will absorb some of this energy I would think and the damage that occurs would be different. Also the ridgeline is not in the same class as full size trucks, which makes no sense to compare them.

Crash tests are kinda lame when we have real world stats if anyone would care to share them!

I mean the insurance industry has this nailed down based on every crash there is I imagine.

I'd like to know IF Tundra crashes are resulting in more serious injuries in real world cases.

This crash into a solid immovable sharp edged object does not strike me as "real world"

Again.. why do we need crash tests AFTER the vehicle is designed and on the road; let's see the real numbers...
