That's right $10 puny dollars for a cool modern looking full frontal. Purchased on eBay - 2X 85CM Flex Tube LED 6000K White DRL Running Strip Light for Universal Auto Car. Waterproof, Not $1000 like... you know who. 1.25 hours of work gets you the $1000 look that you were saving up for.

Finding your 10mm socket is the hardest part of this project.

Remove the 3 hood bulge bolts with a 10mm socket
Finesse the plastic push pins out of there holes one at a time until the grill pops off.
Drill out the large plastic rivet at the top of the black grill. Then carefully pry the black grill out of the housing with a standard screwdriver.
Use a handheld size of Clear silicone to tack down the first strip of LED's inside of the housing, Then Tack the second strip on top of the first so you now have 2 strips on top of each other. run a full bead on the bottom and the center of the strips silicone the black grill back where it came from the wire it up to the headlight circuit.
IMG_2434.jpg fullsizeoutput_1ac6.jpg fullsizeoutput_1ac6.jpg IMG_2434.jpg Let the silicone firm up for a few hours and reassemble.

I didn't think of that. But the lights are behind the grill and are hard to see

Got it. I was just trying to visualize the fitment. This is a great alternative.

Wonder what the light output is for that vs the HR one?

Eh, legality is going to be local. That's still illegal here in OK.

Did you wire it directly to the DRL wiring or use the DRL wiring along with a relay?

I'd also really like a pic of the housing without the lights on. Thanks for spending $10 more of my $$$!!!
