    2 questions for any of u possible exhaust gurus out there.

    1) This 1 is easier of the 2 questions. Has anyone tried putting the referred to as black chrome tips for the exhaust that comes stock on the 19 Trd pros onto a previous year trd pro's stock exhaust? If that's even possible, I'm not sure if same size diameter pipes or tips?

    2) This question is a bit more in depth and guessing will take more knowledge in exhaust systems to answer. Help is very much appreciated if you have the knowledge on the how to or the experience doing it yourself. I wont be doing it myself so I dont need the how to in that way. Just need the how to so I can tell a shop exactly what I want.

    I kinda like the mature sound of the stock trd pro dual exhaust. However, I do wish it was a tad bit more aggressive/louder at times. I definitely dont want any drone or any lights on the dash. Don't want anything stupid loud to where people hear me for miles. I am dap tuned so I'm guessing the lights on dash could be resolved if need be thru the tune, but prefer not to need it. I like how it's kinda tame til u get on it, just wish it had a little more umph. Would be happy too if it was just a little louder all the time even without romping on it.

    Without breaking the bank and say going with a Bam or any other aftermarket full replacement exhaust, I'm sold on keeping my trd duals, and if possible, make any mods to it. I know theres a group buy going on right now and I would consider that if I didnt already have the trd duals and like it. I've heard good things about vendors like that and people are happy with the systems they get. I'm not saying others shouldn't do that, or that it's not worth it. I'm just saying for me, already having the trd duals and liking it, I think I can get away with tweaking it for much less, or so I've heard.

    I've heard others say on other group threads if u already have the trd duals for a fraction of the cost u can take it to a local muffler shop and achieve the results I'm looking for without going aftermarket and spending close to a grand or more. I've heard u can do things like cut in a X or H, just replace the muffler, delete cats ect. I've heard, whether it's true or not, you can tell me, but for like $150 bucks at a local shop a couple small changes and/or additions could be made to the trd duals to get the same results as going with an expensive aftermarket system. I've heard great things about Carven. They either are or can be made into a true dual exhaust system ect.

    In case you can't tell, I'm no expert by any means when it comes to an exhaust so I'm looking to lean on any of you guys that know what you're talking about or have done it either yourselves or thru a local shop what I'm trying to accomplish here. Guess in short, what can I have a local shop do for the best bang for my buck to keep the trd duals I actually like for the more than most part and achieve the results I'm looking for?

    If you could tell me any suggestions to add in or change and roughly the cost associated in parts and labor it would be greatly appreciated. TIA guys, you're the best.

    I am going with the MBRP 3” ca back system. Should be coming today. I am in central Nj if ya need a hand installing. I have everything needed to install in my garage.

    Very much appreciate the offer. At this point I'm very young in my research phase, doubt I'll be doing anything anytime real soon. Unless of course, just like most of my other mods, if I find a steal on something. I'm more asking at this point if there's anything I should be keeping an eye out for and looking to develop a plan of what I should do to get the results I'm looking for.

    Yeah they do at the mere cost of over a grand. I'm aware of what he has to offer and I'm sure it's worth it but I've also heard I can accomplish what I'm looking to get out my trd duals for a whole lot less by bringing it to a local shop and having them make a few tweaks on it.

    Maybe I misunderstood what others were saying but I'm pretty sure I didn't. It was something along the lines of having a local muffler shop cut and add in a X or H, with a couple other not so huge changes. It was a while back so I don't remember exactly what was said. I want to say it was both a couple hundred in parts and the same in labor.

    Keith sells exhausts. Since he sells a trd pro replacement exhaust what sense would it make for him to tell me what I can do to my existing exhaust for everyone to see and if it works great for cheap, then he would be hurting his own business, why would people buy that 1 from him then. It wouldn't make sense for him to tell me all that, it would make sense for him to sell his product.

    he will help you, tell him exactly what you are after. His replacement TRD duel system still utilizes your TRD tail pipes and replaces the section from the cats back to the tailpipes. it is however more than you want to spend. that being said he is a full on custom shop and truly enjoys talking to people about the Tundra (pretty sure he is the Tundra whisperer). he can make anything you want to the point of possibly fabing up something that you or any shop could install. he wont be offended i dont think just giving you advice. he will tell you honestly what the best route to take is as far as sound and performance, the last thing you want it is to sound better but hurt your performance and there are very few that know our trucks as well as he does. he is a wealth of knowledge, call him it cannot hurt, he might have a cheap quick solution for you.

    Delete your rear two catalytic converters. O2 sensors are upstream of them so doesn’t effect air fuel at all and will open it up more. I just did it on my truck and it only made it louder at higher rpm when I get on it.

    If you can get an exhaust shop to pipe it that’s good. I just gutted my chambers though.

    Fair enough and thank you for some input. Things are a bit crazy at moment but when I get some downtime I think I will reach out to you Keith for at the very least your feedback and knowledge. I don't like feeling like I'm wasting people's time, so right now I was just looking for some feedback and ideas. If I could do something extremely cheap to get the results I want, I'd consider doing that now, however I've been in this game long enough to kinda realize u get what u pay for too. At this moment I can't make any big purchases, gotta pay for my most recent first lol. Those bad ass rims and tires werent free lol.

    In the meantime if anyone has any cheap effective mod suggestions that I can do on my current trd dual exhaust to get the results I want, I'm all ears. Still researching here.

    Keith traded my rear cats for two of his mufflers and I bought a mandrel bent x-pipe from him and ran 2 1/2" pipes from the cats out the passenger side.tru dual exhaust.I have s little drone at 1500 rpm. Keith said he cause fix that for me when I was ready.He is very knowledgeable on tundra exhausts and will help you in any way he can whether you buy from him or not. HesH a good guy.My truck sounds awesome!! Quiet rumble at reg.driving but nice and loud at wot!!
