Wagner brake pad oddity - opinions?

    Had to replace the front brake pads on my '13 double cab 4x4. The only thing available -right now- in the small town where I was were Wagner. Wagner QC1303 is the part number that is listed everywhere.
    See the pictures below. The shim plate of the Wagner pads is smaller than the OE. Notice the wear imprints on the lower shim in the picture(OE) and how the caliper piston will not be in FULL contact with the new Wagner shim(top of picture).
    I am concerned that the uneven pressure on only part of the pistons could lead to trouble.
    I did call and talk to a 'certified specialist' at Wagner and he confirmed via part drawings that this is the way it was designed but went on to say it is just like OE. I offered to send pictures but he was not interested.
