Yes will not cover shocks but doesn't void warrant on other parts unless caused by bad shock.

A pair of Superbumps will dampen the compression better than all extensions on the 4 rock hard stock bumpstops. Extensions are needed if using 5100’s higher than the lowest clip and using CB shims.

There are 4 stops in the front. Only install one SB behind the axle on each side replacing stock. Add extensions to the stock stops in front of the axle. Initial compression will strike the SB’s first due to the lesser gap and come full stop on all 4 points once it reaches the extended stock ones

I can’t imagine 5100’s on street queens breaking unless the user is bashing curbs or deep potholes and significant speed bumps. I personally would not be more aggressive on them than green laning dirt roads with no obstacles at posted limits.

My understanding with 5100's with no shims was that even with it raised 3" it will still not bottom the shock out. I'm short on time to research on the forum to find the thread that described why bump stops don't need to be added with 5100's.

I can’t remember how high the 5100s lift the truck on the highest setting. I thought it was around 2 1/2 inches. Either way as long as you are only using The settings available on the shock with no shims or spacers on top of the shock, the shock will be in its acceptable range. Adding the shim on top basically pushes your LCA down that much further but the shock is now going to bottom out in its typical travel before the bump stop comes into contact with the frame. I don’t know exactly how much spacer it will take to get you there but it can happen. If you’re just installing the shocks with no other modifications other than maybe a small shim to counteract driver side lean, you should be good.

Many people have great things to say about the shocks. But they have their limitations just like any of them. They’re not meant for you to be able to jump your truck. I want to say many of the people that break theirs probably were pushing the limits on their set ups. They need to rethink their shock/suspension game LOL

This is probably the best solution all the way around. I like the idea of having a solid bump shimmed to the right location. And the super bump to aid in slowing down the bottom out.

+1 what Sean said in #35, how Ekstrom explained it to me too. I shouldn’t say extensions are “needed”, unless adding CB shims, what commonly people like to do, edited.

Note that bumpsops are already there.
