The Land Yacht 2.0 - Army Green TRD Pro Build

Will do. I was hoping to install it tomorrow, but the stuff from Ram mounts didn’t get here. Since you have to mount the ball sockets on the bracket before you install it, the install will be delayed.


In other news, I got the first Tundra bed rack shelf from @Datin Metal Fab. I am extremely happy with the quality, engineering, and thought process of their products. So when they gave me the opportunity to jump on this, I did. Tanner is a legit cool dude, puts up with my constant pestering, and always has good customer service.

Here is what I am forced to do. The end caps were just destroyed, so it was time. Hopefully, someone out there decides to make a good looking high clearance bumper that relocates the hitch. I’ve only been asking/complaining for this for a couple years....

Thanks man! Your truck was part of the motivation I needed to get mine to where it is. I really dig your build. I too almost went with ADS, but settled on Kings after all.

I think secondary bypasses and @TOTAL CHAOS lowers are in my future.

Got the @Datin Metal Fab awning mounts in. These things are BEEF! Once I decide on an awning, I’ll put these things to some real use.

Haven’t updated this in a while, but I got some more parts in/coming. Figured I’d share.

First and foremost is the @ics_fab dash mount. Looking to be running my iPad mini for maps/nav, my inReach explorer+ for gps signal, and my warn winch wireless controlled for easy reach. Both phones are mounted lower on mob armor mounts for easy access.

Also got an ARB elements fridge for a hell of a deal that I couldn’t pass up. No more soggy sammiches, or melted ice, or hot dog water in the cooler. Really pumped for this! Haven’t decided on mounting location, but I’m leaning towards the pass side back seat and remove the 40% seat. Don’t mind the winch or arb compressor, those belong to a bud of mine.



Finally, I am happy to announce that I am joining the @DECKEDUSA team. I’ve been eyeballing their setup for a long while and after countless chats with them, I decided to pull the trigger. Main question is how it will survive in a dynamic environment. Super stoked to get some more organization in the truck.

Super happy with how this came out. Mount is stupid easy to install. It’s stout and really addresses the lack of options to mount things. I run an iPad with Gaia for maps/nav, then an inReach Explorer+ for GPS and SOS and my wireless warn winch controller, for when we party too hard.

If you guys are questioning the purchase, I highly recommend it.

I was actually in TN and KY for the last 4 days wheeling. My crew did the red clay rally and we finished without body damage.

I forget about this thread and that people actually look at this. Anyway, figured I'd post an update to what some of you who follow 4lobound already know about. Especially since some of you noticed parts getting sold on here.

Anyway, a couple months ago a buddy and I were scoping some property near the river where I live, for the upcoming deer season. The summer was brutal here, so everything was super dry and dusty. As such, this area with gravel roads was a nightmare to drive through. It was the type of dust I encountered down in Baja California chasing the 1000, where it just clings to the air and covers everything. Anyway, following my buddy in his Tundra doing some spirited driving and it got the point where we couldn't see anything. I come to a crawl and am slowly, roughly 10mph, making my way through the dust cloud, since I couldn't see squat. Low and behold, some asshole that passed my buddy doing 50-60mph comes barreling down the road. Before my buddy has time to call me after he passed him, this guy decides that crossing into the center of the road is a good idea and barrels into the dust cloud my dust colored truck was in. I didn't see him until his truck was taking the space my fender/door had previously been in and on came the damage. Guy basically caused a frontal overlap and totaled out the truck. It is my opinion that the Camburg bumper helped to let us walk away unscathed. There was no frame damage whatsoever and I am convinced its due to the shape and robustness of the bumper. It did its job and deflected a significant portion of the damage. To the point that the frame was still in spec and no bags deployed on a frontal collision. I'd love for Camburg to see this. I would like to personally thank them for making killer projects that do their job. Of course, I was a dummy and held onto the steering wheel, which ultimately caused the clockspring to break, and hurt my left arm/shoulder/elbow/hand.

Surprisingly enough, all of the suspension survived. I attribute this to the wheel getting ripped off, which is somewhat concerning. I'll post a pic below, but the lugs pulled straight through the Icon wheel. Pretty sure that's the last time I run one of their wheels. I have never seen a wheel get ripped off that way.

Anyway, truck is replaceable. People aren't. I have a replacement truck ordered, but it will be a while. I will post up when it arrives.

Oh my goodness! What a crazy life event. I’m glad you’re okay! Strange opportunity to evaluate which mods were great and which not. I’m very relieved you came out of it okay!!

FWIW, I really hate off-raiding with quicksand-colored trucks for this reason; if they don’t run excellent lights, they’re invisible in dust.

appreciate the kind words. I’m happy I came out of it ok too. Honestly, I have no issue wheeling with dust colored trucks. It’s just common sense not to barrel into someone else’s dust like that. Guy was a POS though, so it makes sense that he would.

yep, got out, ripped his shirt off and tried to fight me for “going fast” and causing the wreck. Dude was legit hostile and a lowlife. Wasn’t even his truck. It was his dad’s truck and his mom’s insurance. Guy was a grown ass man acting like a child. Worst case, his daughter was in the front seat and he was too concerned with almost fighting me than making sure she was ok. Smh.

I remember there being a camburg guy on here, but I thought his name was Scott. Couldn’t remember, so didn’t tag him.

Glad your OK, yeah I've encountered guys like this before, the self-proclaimed "alpha male".....what a POS! Theyre out there and sadly good people have to contend with these idiots! Their first intention is to throw fists without a thought of consequences.

Im currently looking at this bumper, not interested in running a winch but I like that they vetted this product like they did and your experience says they designed/ built it right!

Next truck is getting built a bit more. I’ll revamp this thing with a clever name and post updated when it gets here.

it is what it is man. He’s lucky I’m not as hot headed as I was when I was younger. If it came to fisty cuffs, I’m a strong believer of the 2nd amendment and I was in bad shape after this. Whole left side of my body ached and ended up with some soreness in my back. I wasn’t in any shape to trade blows. Plus it wasn’t worth it, you know? It’s just a truck, I’ve worked hard enough in my life to put myself in a position to go out and buy another one.

In regards to bumper, you can’t go wrong. I’ll probably end up ordering another one to replace this one when the new truck comes. Based on what I’ve seen at sema and many other bumper manufacturers, I’m glad I spent the coin on this one.

Not worth it. Guy probably doesn’t have much and he’s got kids. No sense in ruining his kids lives for his life choices. Guy probably already does that enough. Plus, I’ve worked hard enough to put myself in a financial situation that I can just go buy another one. I’m just glad no one was actually hurt.

You didn’t miss Alaska. I haven’t made it, yet.... We ended up having a kiddo and that was a big surprise, so it put a bunch of things on hold. We’ve got a cross country move in 2021, so I don’t foresee it happening within the next couple years, but it’s gonna happen! Next truck will be here in a handful of months and will be built even more. I’ll try and revamp this thing, so stay tuned.

Just a couple weeks away! With this Covid nonsense, we’ve got a bunch of vacation built up, so we’re driving to Portland to pick up and then driving back 100% offroad. Should be like a 4500 mile road trip.
