I live in League City, about 20 minutes from this facility. The fire has been burning since about 1030 Sunday morning, with no real signs of letting up. About 8 storage tanks in total, 5 currently burning. No word on when the fire will be put out, but most likely going to try and contain it and let it burn itself out. Hopefully can prevent it from spreading.

I use to work inside this plant quite a bit, and my brother was literally at the plant next door about 1/4 mile away when it started. He was told to evacuate and hasn't been let back in. The smoke/plume, can be seen from Katy which is over an hour away. Basically a big ass black cloud of smoke covering Houston and moving North. The pic from the airplane was taken yesterday above Hobby Airport (about a mile from my work) and you can see how crazy it looks.

Hoping all fire response any one else involved are staying safe.

So far, I don't believe any injuries/deaths have been reported (thankfully). They are estimating the fire to burn another 2-3 days, as long as no additional tanks catch fire. No explosions as of yet, just burning product.

Working in LaPorte, maybe 6-8 miles from Fire. Can see the plume really well.

yeah I left Sunday morning to my parents place in Friendswood and thought the plume was from the Exxon fire a couple days before. but nope. brother called a couple hours later and said he was hanging out with a news guy and some cops pretty, close to scene. He said he heard it was a transport truck that initially caught fire, but couldn't confirm it
