What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Good info here. I noticed on my OEM door sill protectors that only the front has the word tundra on it, the rear does not. Is that what you're talking about? That u wouldve put the front door sill in the rear door too? Please explain. Tnx.

 

Good idea! I just read a review about the backs not having corner protection and thought that's what I had to live with. And nice touch on the decals.

So are we saying here that I need to remove my OEM rear doors sill protectors, the ones that came on my truck, the ones without the word tundra, then buy another door sill set for the front to replace the rear ones. I wonder how hard it would be to remove the rear that's been on there for years? Has anyone done this? Is it confirmed the fronts will fit fine in the rear? Should I use some heat to get the rear to come up?

 

I live in the Valley but we were there prepping a property to sell behind Mobil on South and Lakewood

Yes, I have exactly what u circled in pic in front. I have the rears too, but they don't have the word tundra in them. Just horizontal lines. I was wondering if I could remove the rears and replace with another front set so I can put letters in front and rear?

Looks like you have the OEM set. If you measure the fronts, would they fit the back?

I'd probably try to pull up on the corner of one of the rears, then slowly use a gun on low heat and remove them. They look good though, you sure you want to remove?

Seeing yours I might just get the set and decal the fronts.

Yeah dude. I’m a member of a list of gun/hunting forums as long as my arm and almost every thread seems to end up with somebody getting out the tape measure over stupid meaningless stuff. If u think that's bad, take a look at daddy's St Patrick's day tradition. This is my getup and I'm the cook for the day on the corn beef, cabbage, and potatoes. Here is the Defender rack by Smittybilt that I customized and installed.
Some of you will say it’s too low, some will say it’s too high. Any lower and I couldn’t access the bed or open the bedcover, any higher and I couldn’t lift stuff high enough to put in. Plus, I didn’t want a “ladder rack” utilitarian look. I felt this was more stylish, and will fit under the sport bar (nonfunctional roll bar) I plan on installing.



Since you can’t see the subwoofer behind the seat, I am posting a photo from before I installed it. It is a 10” shallow sub with a built in amp...by Cerwin Vega. It also has a remote to control the gain.

 

Installed DIY Unistrut bed rails that I painted with bed liner along with Nissan tie downs I snagged off of Ebay. Total of about $95 invested.

 

+1 on the wheel cover. I did the same on mine and it feels like a different truck. Nice work.

 

I wouldn't exactly say Crash you must have posted pics, not like any of us would go all crazy Facebook rant on ya if u didn't. But I will say it came out awesome, both u and your girlfriend did an awesome job on it and we appreciate the photos. Just fyi I was only busting ur chops by saying pics or it didn't happen. Great job and tnx for pics.

Now if only u could let me in on your secrets so I can get my ol lady to sew a cover for me, I'd purchase it right now if she would. Guess when u been together for some 20+ years, live together, and got kids, you just don't like eachother as much to do all that lol.

 

Just pick this up from a super great guy for 400$ and he even installed it for me at no extra charge! SWEET! Snugtop....love it!

Wednesday its going in for a pushbutton/remote start.
I just ordered the drivers side grab handle and still trying to decide on running boards and bed cap.

 

I was teasing about having to post pics. I enjoy sharing the results of my projects on here.

My girlfriend did the steering wheel because she likes to crochet, and I thought it would be something similar enough for her to enjoy...since she often complains that she can’t really help with most vehicle projects (other than finding tools I’ve misplaced).

 

So true about having the wife look for lost tools. I don't know how she finds the 10mm after I've lost it.

 

I see what u did there, teased the teaser. Her grandmother likes to crochet, unfortunately my lady doesn't and I don't see her grandmother climbing up into my truck and sitting there for hours on end just to stitch a cover for me. Plus besides complaining about the time and money I spend on my truck, that pretty much sums up her involvement in my mods lol. U got a good 1, might just be a keeper. Good luck with both.
