Hello all, have you seen this before? Not sure where it came from and it doesn't feel like a scratch either. Any of you have recommendations for a good trim cleaner or something like that?

If you cant feel the scratches it might be paint transfer. i would try to rub it with some polish or a non-aggressive compound

Ok, I'll try that...I tried to get it out with some glass cleaner and it wouldn't come out.

Yep. Looks like it was bumped by something and the paint/material tranferred to the trim.

Try some gentle rubbing with a cloth first and see what happens.

The alcohol mentioned above might work. i didnt think about that, i usually go to polishes and compounds right away that i forgot about the simple things lol.

Make sure there is no dust or dirt on it before scrubbing too much, lest you make more scratches. These newer interiors are way, way too soft, and non repairable. It is not like you can throw some touch up paint on it, like older cars. Replacement of panels is often the only remedy, as refinishing the surface is not an option. The upside, is that cheap plastic panels are cheap!

Sounds weird, but try rubbing peanut butter on it. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve heard it works. Supposedly gets scratches out of cd’s also.

I've been using mothers Mag & Aluminum polish for about 25 years now. Used it at first on rims as its advertised but then found out it works wonders on plastic and stubborn paint scratches, transfers, etc. It's kind of a middle ground between ultra-fine and medium rubbing compound with a polish mixed in. I will only use this now for restoring plastic pieces like instrument panels from mid 70s muscle cars, etc when I was restoring them. Gets the yellowing out and clear as a new piece off the assembly line when done. I've used it by hand and with a high speed buffer as well for quick jobs on headlights and such. It also works wonders on sterling silver, stainless, chrome, etc.

As with any product, you want to start with the least aggressive method and work your way up.
Start with smooth. If it doesn’t do the job, you can move up to chunky. Of course, Chunky will cause some marring, so you’ll have to go back over it with smooth anyway.
