Neighborhood trashcan etiquette

I live on half a block from a high school. High school kids are punks. When I see trash on the street, I check my cameras to see where it came from and its usually a kid who parked on the street and the street is lined with dumpsters but they throw it in the street. I put the trash on their windshield with a note and also have the school police officer write a ticket!I work from home so Im on it. Yea Im a dick like that. Would rather they throw it in my dumpsters.

City folks get all toqued if you put items in the wrong can.

Naw it's not worth it. I will say though I had used a few vacation days at work already myself trying to stay out of it .

 

I use my neighbors often, they are an old couple that never fills any of the cans up. I dont think i've ever asked. We get 2-3 packages a day from Amazon and cardboard kills us. I often do a dumpster back alley drop off 1-2x's a week.

 

that's what we have, overfill organics, trash, and recycle every week...i need to get rid of my kids and wife

 

I think it is ok ...so long as your not taking a dump in their trash can....i can get away with it because of my name.

 

I use to wait for my neighbor to leave on trash pickup morning and go throw my trash in her can so I didn’t have to pay for trash lol

 

I seen some guy open the trash bin, pull something out and eat it

Yeah I’m supposed to travel for work flying back in Thursday morning. Worst case scenario I’m stuck in the poorest rich city in America ... San Jose. (Speaking of trash on the ground)

 

I like putting old oil filters and anti-freeze in my neighbor's trash so the trash guys leaves it, and then remove them before the neighbor gets home. He has changed trash companies 3x now since he gets pissed off at em and then complains to me about how crappy our service is. I tell him I never had a problem???????

I do not care if someone uses ours, we have bags so it would need to be closed or tied bag up. I use others respectfully, if by the road.

My wife would rather carry a "poop" bag 1/2 mile home than use a neighbors trash on the road.

 

compost truck, like the recycle, only comes by every other week. with the weather warming up, things are going to get stinky...
