Got mine today as well. The shipping department was busy I bet.
I'm another who could benefit from pics, as I've never attempted anything like this before.
Btw, if I want mine to aim downward, am I correct to assume I turn the screw clockwise?

Without actually checking I think that's correct. Turning the screw clockwise will put it upward, the light will pivot down.

I'll go take a couple quick pics right now. You guys owe me a Coke Zero. ;)

    Hokay, here's the quick version:

1: There are these barbed parts on the housing itself, when you get it removed you will see the notch in the top and bottom of the bumper that they fit into. You can squeeze the housing from the outside to wiggle it out, or you could use a tool to pry it from the top. If you use a screwdriver or something to pry it you should wrap it with electrical tape to prevent scratching anything.

    20160921_183140.jpg
    20160921_183147.jpg

2: This is the fitting you need to release. There is pretty much zero slack on the wire with the factory lights, so pull the housing out firmly enough to get your eyeballs and a screwdriver the appropriate access. Get under the tab and lever it upward, away from the socket body while pulling the connector apart.

    20160921_183157.jpg

3: There are 4 tabs on your new fog lamps - 2 of them fit into slots on one side of the factory housing and then you pivot the light in place, using the screw in the picture to hold everything in place. The 4th tab goes unused. I just reused the factory screw.

    20160921_183206.jpg

4: Follow the instructions on the Morimoto website, the URL is included in the small instructional booklet in the box. This will help you to wire the socket connector. Don't be afraid to use a dielectric gel.

5: Push the housing back into the bumper. It can be a little tricky to line up, but mess with it for a second and you'll have it back in no time. This whole process takes maybe 10 minutes on each side, but probably closer to half that.

    Thanks!

The other thing I did to my 3rd gen today was this:

I couldn't resist stealing this idea.

He's a vendor I found on these forums. This shifter, by the way, is not only stunning to behold but also fits perfectly in my hand. Worth every penny.

Backslider, thanks a lot for going through the trouble to educate! Much appreciated! So glad I found this forum. Next up, LED's all around. However, I do like your projectors. Hmmm....
I have the feeling ill be spending some money.
I was warned about that when I joined.

    Glad I could help!

I would say don't get LED bulbs until you get projectors - the reflector housings that come stock are just going to scatter light everywhere. If you want the brightness and white color without replacing the housings or doing a retrofit you should get an HID kit.

Really? Because all I've been doing tonight is watching Headlight Revolution videos, and scouring their website. I want something to match my Morimotos.

Looks great. I'd do it if I wasn't lacking in time, energy, and intelligence. :anonymous:
    I can write checks though.

Don't sell yourself short. I hear you on the time and energy part though!

The same guy you bought your fogs from (assuming you just did the group buy) can hook you up.

If you didn't do the group buy, @eledobleu does retrofits.

Thanks Eledobleu, turned out great! Just one question for everyone... do you have a gap between the plastic housing and the morimoto fog light? The oem fog fight flush to the plastic mount however the new fogs have a gap. Looks good just curious about gap.

Yes i sure do. Would you want just the lower? Or the insert, or all of it? It's the white lower and dark gray insert. I was holding onto it just in case I felt like buying the white bulge. Where are you located?

Just the lower. I'd like to color match the bulge as well, but keep the stock chrome insert and Toyota emblem. I know I know, most are chrome deleters, but I kinda like it! Located in Phoenix, AZ

Wonder if you can put a bit of black silicone or something to fill it in? I worry about water and bugs, etc getting in there. Or nothing to worry about?

I'm not home right now I would need to weigh the box and take some measurements so I could get a proper shipping quote. When I gave rough dimensions on UPS it looks like it may be about $50 to ship. When I went by weight I figured about 10 pounds it was like 13 bucks. But it's a bulky box. Also give me your zip please. Just Pm me from now on

Fog lights was super easy. Hardest part was getting the prongs out of the wire housing when I put them in backwards and then getting the whole housing back in the bumper. Guess now it's time to retro the headlights..!!!

Are they a drastic improvement over stock? I'm debating between those and the rigid industries duallys for my fogs...

Love your truck. She's BEAUTIFUL. BTW , I'm new to truck and mods but was wondering what tires and wheels are you using. I like them. I have a 16' TRD CM 4x4 4.6L instead and wanted to get rid of the stocks wheels. Do I need to raise the truck or anything for those to fit?
