I have a 15 Tundra 5.7 CM with 75k on it.All routine service done. The past few weeks when I start the truck it sounds like a belt noise or maybe a pulley going bad. How would I determine the exact location? It’s hard to tell from just starting it and looking into the engine bay. The power steering pump is full of fluid and doesn’t seem to have any problem with the power steering. Want to try to troubleshoot before goingto the dealership. Any advice will behelpful thanks!

Same boat, 2015 CM 5.7 with 73k miles, been dealing with the noise for awhile off and on, thought is was power steering too for a little while, thought it was PCV valve but replaced that, I sprayed some belt dressing on belt Saturday and the noise picked up down by the tensioner, looking at the Gates kit with new tensioner, idler and belt but it looks like a pita to replace. Tight spot

On my '07 the bearing in the belt tensioner started going bad and it squealed like a wounded pig. I replaced it with a new OEM one that I got online for like $50 and changed the serpentine belt at the same time. It isn't a very hard job. The hardest part is getting the belt on and off. If you have someone to lend a third hand, you can have the swap done in 20 minutes.

@Trikerider sounds like the same issue. Mine is off and on been doing this for a while. It looks like a tight area to work in as well. I took it to the dealership when it first started but they said they didn’t find anything wrong of course it stopped making the noise when they looked at it. Now it’s back!

@Yota707 have you tried taking belt off and moving each pulley or belt driven item freely to hear noise? '14 here, bought used with 26,000 at 45, tensioner and idle were replaced, with OEM and Gates belt
