so I have a 15 Tundra 5.7 CM with 75k on it. All routine service done. The past few weeks when I start the truck it sounds like a belt noise or maybe a pulley going bad. How would I determine the exact location? It’s hard to tell from just starting it and looking into the engine bay. The power steering pump is full of fluid and doesn’t seem to have any problem with the power steering. Want to try to troubleshoot before going to the dealership. Any advice will be helpful thanks!

Turn the a/c on and off and listen for the sound to go away. If it does it’s likely the a/c compressor pulley.

If you look at the pulleys while it’s running you can sometimes see a wobble in the affected pulley.

You can also pop the belt off and turn the pulleys independantly of one another. Feel for a lack of smoothness like a slight wobble or a grind.

How does your serpentine belt look ?

Your below the recommended miles for when you should is change it but sometimes environmental conditions can fatigue the belt early. 90k is the recommended timing.

Serpentine belt looks in good condition. I’ll try the A/C recommendation see if this can narrow it down. Thanks for the advice!
