    Hello Tundra Community!
I'm a new member, finally taking a minute to intro myself. I have a 2018 SR5 Double Cab Longbed. 5.7 liter. It's a work truck for my landscaping and pruning business. I'll post a photo of it sometime soon. It's a styin' truck!

I live in Ashland, Oregon. I bought it in Portland, and I don't recommend the dealership I went thru- Broadway Toyota. So far, Lithia Toyota in Medford seems good.

I am disappointed with the lack of fuel economy. I'm averaging 14.5 mpg.

Can anyone explain why they use a 4.10 axle ratio?
Other makes are using 3.73 and getting better mileage. I'm guessing it gives better traction and low-end power. But, are Ford, Dodge, Chevy actually lacking in these things in their half-tons?

I've been plagued with rattles in the cab since it had about 100 miles. Now 4,600. Broadway struck out on it. I'm giving Lithia a shot at it. We'll see how they do. I see there are a lot of compaints on this forum about rattles, esp in the newer trucks.
The rattles are so annoying that I'm considering switching to another brand of truck.

Can anyone tell me whether rattles are considered a substantial enough defect to be worthy of applying the Lemon Law to?
Hopefully they will resolve these pesky noises and I can live happily ever after with this truck.

Thank you for reading and for any answers.

Sorry to hear about your issues.

I don't have any of those issues and this is the first time I've heard or read about them.

Can you post links to where you read about them?

???? Man go back in time grab you up a 2nd gen I guess .I myself have an 08 dc long bed I love it .No issues that you are talking about. But I hope you find an answer . I dont think switching brands will be in your best interest unless you like to buy a new truck more often.

Welcome. Sorry to hear that you have issues with your Tundra. I have a 18 with now just over 30,000 miles and I don't have any rattles. I can't stand rattles in a car and certainly would have been annoyed if I did have any. In fact this morning I had a rattle and realized it was the container of tic-tacs my kid left in the truck. It is in the trash now.
If you do city driving or short distances for your landscape business between customers, then your MPGs seems to be about right for any V8 truck. We have a fleet of Chevys and Fords at work and a few guys drive their own RAMs and unless you mix long distances on the highway in there, 14 to 16 is about everyone's average. I get 19 on the highway.
Good luck. I hope you can work out the few quirks and enjoy the Tundra - they are great trucks.
