I have a similar question.

Can I put 2018 Tundra running boards on my 2016 Tundra Double Cab? I would prefer to but Crew Cab boards on my Double Cab (to have an extra step into the bed) but I can't seem to find any confirmation from Toyota or the forums if it will bolt up easily.

Specifically, I have found info on Toyota Part numbers PT925-34181(C-Cab) and PT 925-34183 (D-Cab) for 2018 and 2019 Tundras that have conflicting install sheets from Toyota. I called Toyota, and they are very nice, but cannot answer the question if either of these part numbers will bolt easily to my 2016 D-Cab. I don't know if Toyota would have moved any of the bolt holes on the chassis from the 2016 to 2017. 2018 or 2019 model years. I have attached two files that I highlighted in Yellow showing discrepancies in Toyota's info.
