Hi everyone, I am wanting to buy a 2008 Tundra, that is in immaculate condition. The frame has been "rust treated", so I can not see if there was rust or breakage. This truck was owned by a dealership during the lawsuit period, and therefor was NOT eligible to have the frame replaced if needed. (Dealerships were excluded from the class action suit). So now I am worried, that they just sprayed it and sold in 2017 right after the class action suit ended in Dec 2016. Its owned by a private person now, but I have done my homework and am worried because of the findings about Toyota Dealership being the owner, until 2016. (It was their deliver truck) Thoughts? Comments?

Where do you live? Are you in the rust belt states? My 08 is from Nashville and underside looks brand new still. Good luck. D

I own an 08 with only 80k miles. With that said I had my frame coated by toyote for the recall I really think that you shpuld have a dealer re inspect the " problem areas " before you buy .Or maybe call toyota and give them the com the should have a rust report on the truck if dome by a dealer. If nothing else explain the situation and see if they can note that yours was done before the actual recall .So possible they will re inspact it for you at no charge. Side not my truck had hardly any surface rust on the frame but I keep in inside all yr when parked but I do live in indiana. Good luck to you I hope it works out for ya .

Sorry didnt fully read that it was excluded in the suit .But you should still be able to get it inspected for sure.
