Bumper ends are getting powder coated this week!! Coming off was easy but lining everything back up looks tricky...front should be easy but what did you guys do on the back to line things back up? This is on a gen 3. Any measurements you guys have and/or torque numbers would be great ;)

Granted mine is a 2013 - I just replaced my rear bumper and tightened it down to what I thought would hold on well...

Most likely what I'll do but, I was trying to leave as little as possible to chance. Any tricks anyone has for aligning the back bumper?

I think your rear bumper comes off in pieces just like your front one does... Toyota did that starting in 2014 so if you dented one side, you didnt have to replace the whole bumper. When I put mine on, I just eyeballed it and tightened it down. IMO it's not worth spending an entire night to make sure the bumper is centered to the .0001"

Haha, what you could do is just get some stirofoam pieces, cut them to 1/2" thick, and stick them between the bumper and bedsides on each side and move the bumper ends in until you wedge that piece of stirofoam on both sides to make sure it is 100% centered...

Sorry I couldn't be of any help, I haven't had to remove the rear bumper yet. I also plan to PC my bumper ends so eventually I will feel your struggle.

Front won't be bad because they connect to the middle part and bolt to a long bar, backs are totally independent of each other so it will be a pita.

Quick question, I'm getting my bumpers back in the next two days and the bolt holes have been exposed to rain leaving a surface rust inside them. Should I just put some anti seize on the bolts and call it good or use some WD-40 to get the rust out? Can't remember if WD-40 is bad for paint....

I don't know that it will make much of a difference, I would think anti seize on the bolts should prevent any issues.

You have to really play with and eyeball the rear bumper, local body shop didn't reinstall the end cap properly and I too am a little OCD. Tried measuring but nowhere to get a solid measurement. I would stick my hand in one gap and try to mimic the feel on the other side.

From what I measured on other Tundras the side gap top and bottom should be about 1 inch from body to edge of the bumper.
