What do you mean pushing hard for this group buy. It's for the group to get better pricing. I am not getting any free kickbacks and am not affiliated with tech12volts at all. Anyone here who knows me and knows James, is aware of this. We are trying to get better deals at a volume for a slight discount

"@james@tech12volts will know. But obviously if he recommends these particular speakers for this application out of hundreds of other choices, they must be the best fit for this application"

Isn't this what you wrote to my question?

I took it as shut up and buy it otherwise go away

Not at all. BUT, you could make some points toward redemption by apologizing to @Pudge for calling his integrity into question. He's very well known around here for his helpfulness and stellar integrity.

Emailed with Mr James on install for JBL system.

Mid woofer installs in place of door speaker, plug and play

Uno Tweeter gets soldered in place with the cross over in-line, it will snap directly into the factory JBL sail on the front door and in place of the rear door tweeter.

    https://youtu.be/yjhYKzE_yBg
    Door panel removal.

    And I apologize to Pudge

    See fine print
Do you know if we have to run a wire to the tweeter or there is stock tweeter already wired to the stock mid?

You will reuse the factory tweeter wire, just add the cross over which is a cable section, to the new tweeter

I’m trying to install these right now. What do you mean the tweeter gets soldered in place?

Do I just connect the 2 wires coming out of the Hertz tweeter to the factory tweeter wires? There were two sets of factory style connectors that came with the kit but the factory tweeter has a different connector. Which factory tweeter wire is +? There is a pink and light blue wire going to the factory teeeter.
@james@tech12volts is this how the tweeter is supposed to fit in the sail panel?

I did not get into specifics because I don't have the kit yet, I'll send you question in a email to James.

Pretty sure you going to clip the end off, and soilder the crossover inline. But wait till one of us gets a response.

The factory tweeter connector, I cut it off.

    Inline Hertz crossover.
I’m just using blade connectors on the tweeters. One side is done. I’m working on the other side now.

    So......

Maybe I need to start another thread but let's talk amps fur dummies.....

I have absolutely no clue when it comes to amps, specs, ohms, bridged, series, etc.... I am probably going to place the order tomorrow for door and dash speakers. Already got the sub last week. I am above average mechanically just am confused when it comes to stereos.

Is there an amp that is an upgrade over stock and is completely plug and play and takes full advantage of these upgraded speakers?

What is this DSR 1 processor I keep seeing in relation to an amp.

The more I read, the more I am confused on here....

If I need to start a new thread I will be more than willing to.

Adding and amp and dsr1 is venturing into an expensive endeavor. Likely needing professional installation if you have limited electrical/audio knowledge. With good mechanical ability you may be okay. There really isn't a replacement plug and play amp for these JBL systems. Even adding an amp requires lots of extra parts and harnesses. To add an amp you'd need a sound processor, maybe an EQ, the dsr1 would be to integrate your new pieces into the factory headunit and steering wheel controls. At that point you might as well just replace the head unit.
It can all be done, but its expensive and extensive. And James cam take care of you for a full upgrade if you wanna go that way.

the whole idea of the speakers in this group buy and the sub and box from the last one, is to greatly improve the audio in these JBL equipped trucks, WITHOUT the expense and effort of basically rebuilding the whole system. Yes an amp and headunit and sound processor and all that WILL sound better and louder, but for budget conscious, James has figured a way to give us great sound without changing our head units and breaking the bank account wide open.
For me the sub was an incredible upgrade for the price, I never ever would have thought our little stock JBL amp could push a sub to sound that good and loud. Now I await these other speakers, if they perform half as good as the sub and provide half the sound improvement, in will be a very happy man. James is one of the only guys out there that has figured out the JBL system in these trucks, other companies offer speaker kits and upgrades but they are nothing close to what James has come up with over years of trial and error and testing. Even in the last year hes come a long way with these systems.
By all means start a new thread, it will be very helpful to a lot of people.
And if you wanna go full balls out, you can and James can hook you up. Its just a matter of how deep you wanna get into this system and how deep your pockets are

Tested the new setup out and it’s nice. The Hertz components sound good and clean everything up. I still need to fine tune my settings.
I do have the sub and it made a huge difference!

Can you use a hole saw to cut your existing sails to fit the front door tweeters? If so, what's the size?

Yeah that would work. Not sure on the size. Maybe there is a template in the box? @jc153 ? Any idea of the size of those tweeters? Is there a template for those who need to cut a hole? It can be done and would look probably better than the OEM sail panel
I think these pics were posted by @TundraTex when he did his, I found the pics on Google images

tundra amp rack 4.jpg worth First off lets get some misinformation out of the way . There is no aftermarket amplifier having that is plug n play . EVER . now i know companies like to throw that term around to make you the customer more comfortable with installing but its not plug n play or you do not want it . Simply due to there not being a big enough power wire anywhere in that truck to plug into . The dsr1 helps a lot but its not plug n play either. I refuse to lie to my customers just to make a sale and have you overwhelmed on Sunday night while you try to install this . We do offer some solutions that simplify it a lot and keep you from cutting up your harness . But the words PLUG N PLAY and car audio never go together. honestly
