Hey guys, I'm at the dealer having them look at my Cam tower leak on my 2017 crewmax. They have a 2019 TRD Pro on the showroom floor. I love the look of it and best of all its white! Just thought I'd post up a pic of the truck and the price to give other an idea of what they are going for. Post up your finds.

    It says 2wd. Weird.

And I would opt out of the last piece of additional equipment :D

Seems to be more common on the Pro's. Wonder if anyone has been successful in having that removed.

Personally I think you (not you;)) would be stupid to pay a market adjustment for any vehicle. That is 100% profit in the dealership's pocket.

Where I am they do not have this add on for the PROs. So it is not everywhere.

Use the Costco Buyers program. The dealer will never offer a price as low as what Costco will quote you for. No haggle, rock bottom price. I wasted 6 months looking at best priced Tundras, 3 minutes on the computer and Costco toasted every deal nationwide.

When looking at my Platinum I kicked the curb about a Pro. They did not have one and needed to track one down. But they were actually willing to come off MSRP a little. They would come off $750 off MSRP. I came oh so close to jumping on it.

I hate to say this but sometimes ai think the Pro's are pumped up and built up on the Tundra sites. To 99% of people they are just normal trucks. Sometimes it is the same way to people at dealerships.

I myself buy in to the hoopla and think they are freakin' sweet!!!!

My local dealer has had theirs on the lot for a while now. They even have it listed at MSRP w/o market adjustment. Also have a few 2019 TRD Pro Tacomas at MSRP still sitting on the lot. Another local dealer has a 2018 Cav Blue TRD Pro Tacoma on the lot for at least 6 months now. Don't believe what the dealers say. The TRD Pro's are not "flying" off the shelves and they aren't going to be sold today as they would like you to believe. I'm located in Salt Lake City so maybe region has something to do with it but I'd say the market is pretty saturated at this point and people are probably waiting for the next gen Tundra to come out. I'd say you could get them for MSRP or less at this point without dealing with any market adjustment.

Well. Toyota just announced sales figures for January were down. Deals will be coming soon.

I have a sticker price of right about 38k, spent months never seeing it lower than 35, 34k maybe. The Costco quote was.....right at 32k. The dealer wanted more for my Black SR vs. The white SRs they had on the lot, even though the msrp and options besides the color were identical. That is when the printed quote came in handy. Now, keep in mind, you can request your Costco quote via a different dealer(oddly, the dealers answer the quotes for costco, so there will be variences between dealer quotes) for that same truck, and you may get an even better price. Take the best quote on that truck to the dealer, if you let them know you will only pay that much, and further more, TELL THEM YOU DO NOT MIND WAITING 6 MONTHS FOR A FACTORY ORDERED TUNDRA TO GET THAT PRICE, IF NEEDED, AND YOU PLAN TO DO THAT FROM THE OTHER TOYOTA DEALER, IF THEY WILL NOT PRICE MATCH on THAT very Truck. They will either waffle and give you that one, or risk loosing a sale. Either way, you will feel great getting the best price.

Awesome info, thanks! Have always wondered about the Costco program, but have been leery of putting in my info as I didn't want to be hounded by dealers contacting me with inflated prices that weren't a better deal than the "internet pricing" floating around.

Typically I am an "avoid-dealers-at-all-costs" buyer, but man, for $32k brand new I would be crazy to buy used. Taking apples for apples there are plenty of 2015-2016 models being sold privately for $35k with over 40k miles!

I thought I would be buying a base Titan, or used Tundra, and a New one was out of reach. But, when you figure in, interest rates Can be higher on used ones, (and Nissans horrid apr rates on new at the time I was buying), I got this one for the same monthly payment as 25k used one, and less than a 29k Nissan. The best part, NO COMPROMISE! I seat 6 people, and have an 8 foot bed, 4x4, and a big V8! All in a nice new Black metallic paint job! Not to mention Radar Guided Cruise Control as Standard!!! Any Ford, Chevy, or Ram at this price point would have been a v6 2wd....

Why does it seem like everyone accepts the cam tower leaks as something on par with routine maintenance? It's unacceptable. If you're cool with warrantied repairs move onto a new truck brand, all of them will hold up for the first few years all the same and then you can turn it over. I'm a Yota guy too (lucky the 5.7 in my 200 was built in Japan and the cam tower leak is far less common) but no way I'd get a dated Tundra (or new Tacoma) - neither of these trucks are proving to be "bullet proof". There are other trucks on the market that are wayyy nicer, a better value, and probably hold up just as well (over say the first 5 years). I know I know... it's heresy but sometimes you have to look over the fence and realize what youre missing, and how much you're putting up with just because of brand loyalty.

I agree, I always price shop for what suits my needs, brand be damned(besides Fiat products, no way!). In my case, the Toyota was the bargain. A similar Ford was 15 to 20k more, as was Chevy(Rams too, I did look:anonymous:). Nissan simply does not make a king or crew cab with an 8 foot bed, so that would have been a compromise on utility.

MSRP on pros is pretty much the standard they won’t budge much if any on that but I would never pay the market up charge on it not worth it

I have an appointment Wednesday for my oil change. I told the salesperson I always use to make me an offer and trade in that I can't refuse on the 2019 white Pro they have had on their lot for 46 days. I have a 2018 Tundra Sport in Barcelona red with 6,600 miles. I've powder coated TRD wheels, Bilstein 5100's, older pro grille, and blacked out badges. Truck is in mint shape. I also have amp power steps but those would be swapped over.

What is a fair price to pay and a good trade in value?

My current truck is paid off and I would use cash to pay the difference. Chances are I'll keep my truck but I want to at least see the offer. I feel that I didn't get the best deal on my current truck.

Do people really buy 2wd trucks? I mean I get a lowered short bed stepside hot rod, but a big truck with proTrd....?

Lots of 2wd trucks in southern CA. Not a need for them unless you choose to go off road. But yes the Pro is 4wd.

My pro is labeled as 2wd on the dealership paperwork also whenever I take it for service. But it’s definitely 4wd. Weird

One dealership had the same markup. But they were willing to throw in accessories. I got my truck at another dealership that didn’t have it but they did nothing for accessories. Which was fine. Don’t think you’ll have much success in getting a pro negotiated.
