Hey guys new to the forum and not the most experienced when it comes do messing with trucks. Anyways I am getting THE OME 614 kit and was wondering what your input was on the after market UCA option the kit has. Also the Add a Leaf option that the kit has I'm undecided if I should go with that or coachbuilders +3 shackles. Also what size tires are guys running with this kit? Im staying with 18s and I'm gonna leave them on stock rims for now save some more cash and get rims with less of an offset later. So any help with rims and tires would be great.

I had it before. Solid lift, but I went with the Toytec BOSS kit on this truck and haven't looked back. I enjoy the ride of the BOSS kit much more than the EMU.

I agree with Sean. My OMEs are very good for the price point. If you can afford the ToyTec Boss..... Do it. No doubt a better ride off road. If not, go with the OME setup. UCAs are not part of the full OME package, which includes rear 2.5" lift springs. I suggest perusing this forum further. It's really about your budget. At some point, I will upgrade again. My OMEs are doing the job so far. Gets me where I want to go so far........

Would you suggest going with AAL's with either kit the OME or toytec boss or going with a set of coachbuilders shackles. I don't do any real heavy hauling. Might get a camper in the future but that'd be it. The website that I was looking at UCA's and AAL's were both additional add ons for OME and toytec boss lifts

OK I'll look into that as well. I'm goino to save until next spring so price isn't as much as a factor. I'm just trying to get everything picked out so I know how much to save up

I want a lift that looks good and is functional I don't do a ton of off-roading so that is one factor but I want a setup that if I choose to I could if that helps at all too

OME is a great lift for the money.
PERSONALLY I would go with @Coachbuilder1 shackles. He is the man.

I was leaning toward shackles but didn't know about hauling a camper if AAL's would be better

Why not get some air bags + shackles for towing?

I had a AAL already on my Tundra, added the ToyTec adjustable shackles. Solid welded, not assembled. I may have actually 2.5" lift in the rear. If I switched to OME leaf springs, I'd probably have to lose the shackles since the OME leafs are 2.5" lift in the rear. I'll leave my rear setup alone for the time being. I need to get SPC Light Racing UCAs which are reasonably priced from ToyTec ,with ToyTec discount. Not sure how long discount code lasts. (ToyTec..........please extend that discount for a few more months.heh...heh.) Best thing to do is call ToyTec...Tell them your budget, what you want to do with your truck...They won't steer you wrong.

I have ToyTec shackles and AAL. (I wanted to maintain a rake. Nothing more stupid looking is a low rear end when hauling a heavy load or towing. IMHO.)

How's the ride with AAL's and shackles with no load? Any bed bounce?

My OME kit rides ROUGH. Definitely upgrading to some Kings when I have the coin to drop on it. I prefered the ride of the factory TRD suspension with a spacer lift if that says anything. lol. I have 295/70/18 tires and they fit and look good with this size lift

Very little. I have a topper too which probably dampens it somewhat. OME performs much better than TRD off the road. Probably because I have the right coils to match the weight of my front Ranch Hand grille. (Thanks to ToyTec gurus) Hard to eliminate bed bounce completely. I was an ass for awhile thinking that shackles with proper bushings couldn't help much with bed bounce. Coachbuilder solved that issue. It's is truly all about replacing our bull shit OEM bushings. I'm 60 and still learn something new everyday. I have zero problems eating humble pie. Looking for a new flavor though

I'm liking what I'm hearing with the Toytec. I'm thinking I'm going to go that route with AAL's and the Toytec adjustable shackles. That way if I am gonna haul just sky it up a bit. You suggest with going with new polyurethane bushings though as well?

ToyTec sells similar high quality bushings as C Builder. The OEM bushings have no give to them. Quite frankly, any poly bushings are better than what we have stock. I'm a big fan of Wheelers Off Road too, (Grants Pass, Oregon for you west coast boys) , who is an official vendor of ToyTec products.

A great lift for the money. I'm happy with the ride off road. Highway/Street... a little stiff for my liking. There is always a better lift. $$.

Going with the Toytec BOSS would the 700 lb coils be enough for an aftermarket bumper (175 lb) and a winch? Or could I get away with the 650s

Id think 700 would be better, especially if you're running a 5.7 engine. But I'd check what others say. I'm by no mean an expert on this (yet) hehehehe

I just did some wheeling with the Toytec Boss Total Chaos UCAs and Toytec rear shackles. Was amazing. Felt great. Was in 4low going slowish most the trial. Loved the ride.
