Probably only going to be able to do one this summer when the OT rolls in. I will be putting 5100's all around soon if we get some snow to pad the account.

I am currently running the stock 255/75/R18's on the base rim package. They only have 10K on them so the tires are fine for another year. Will it look too out of place with the lift, or can i hold off a year, put a dirty deeds on this summer and go with the wheel upgrade in 2020?

I've got to stop reading build threads before i put myself in a bind and try to do both. :annoyed:

I would go tires first before exhaust. Some good looking tires will make those steelies look better.

Even a set of TRD Off-Road take-offs make a world of difference. My 2010 had those steel wheels on it when I bought it, then I bought some cheap TRD take-offs for $250 (before I decided to keep my Pro wheels) and it looked much better.

Agree 100%. Budget $1200 for some TRD takeoffs and some knobby AT tires and it’ll be night and day.

If you still have a lot of Life on your tires and you're strapped for cash. Do the Practical thing and get your exhaust first. Then wait until you need new tires. If you're not strapped for cash then fuck those old shitty tires. Go out and get your truck some new kicks. You will love having a new lift and tires at the same time.

Crappy market for take off's around me, most guys posting them are asking 1500+. Hopefully by the time I get to it this summer the market will drop.

Wish you where closer I would just give you these stock tundra wheels. They are just sitting collecting dust now . If you would want them . that is .

I'm with this guy. Run out your tires while keeping a keen eye on the used market. Buy the exhaust and enjoy the sweet sweet melody of your V8. Hell, other people can also enjoy the Tundra V8 music without ever seeing your truck.

I say get the exhaust and wear those tires out. Who cares what it looks like when you’re getting your moneys worth.

A level kit with those stock tires will look dumb! Definitely wheels and tires first. Watch Ebay, you can buy a set of custom 18's for around $600 plus tires for about $600-$800 and have a good looking truck...

I did wheels and tires last year and looking at exhaust options now. I needed new tires at the time also.

Eh whenever I see that type of stuff I just think it is it’s a work in progress. But those do look pretty small. That’s why I would probably do the exhaust. Then save up for a lift, wheels and tires.

I don’t think the truck will look any worse than a TRD Pro does stock if you left the wheels and tires on. They’re the same size other than about 3/4” wider.

I got a set of TRD wheels for $500 and transferred my 255/70/18 tires over. Whenever they are worn out I’ll get some BFG most likely but keep the stock size. I like having somewhat decent gas mileage.

Just doing the rims really made the truck look nicer. The plan is to eventually add some Bilstein shocks.

I would do wheels with stock tires till you wear them out, work on the other stuff with the left over cash. You can always just do suspension in steps instead of all at once.

Wow. I wish I could find those same wheels for $500. I have the steelies as well. Honestly, I always run my vehicles bone stock with the exception of dark window tint. But, it is because I usually have nice stock wheels that come with the vehicle. My crewmax is an SR5 with upgrade package, spray in bedliner, etc...and I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it.

The question is, how long is your commute? If you drive a lot, you might enjoy the sound. If you don’t drive a ton, might want to do what makes the truck look better from the window.

If you decide to do suspension, give me a shout and I’ll come over and help. Save some dough on install.

I’ve done it once, hasn’t fallen off yet, so I’m an expert!

Commute is about 15 miles one way. Mostly back roads with 2 miles of highway driving. I do tow the boat down to the CT coast.

I'm a distance from Boston but I'll take the help if we can work it out

Keep an eye on Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, and the marketplace here. It might take some patience, but you’ll find a set eventually for the right price.
