That's some awesome work there @Ostrich . I especially love the Kudu. That's my favorite antelope. I am from South Africa so your tattoos are all special to me - no offense to others, but by far my favorite on this thread.

Damn. Can’t compete in here. Have two. Still young. Definitely time for me.

Rib cage is a mashup I kind of doodled. Has to do with Kairos, a religious ceremony. Not religious at all but the ceremony with with my HS senior class and kind of made you look inward on yourself. Discovered/realized some things about myself. Felt compelled to make the tat. At the end of the ceremony they give you a ring pendant that has love written around it. LT4 stands for live the fourth regarding the fourth day of the ceremony when everything comes together. The check engine light in the middle is personal and brings me back to a place I never want to be in again. Coupled with my love for cars, kind of like a step back, check yourself dealio.

7 on inner bicep was grandfathers number when he played professional ball. Numbers inside were his stats when he won AL MVP.

Is this tattoos we have, or tattoos we’ve done on others? I don’t take many photos of my own tattoos.

I posted my tribute tat to my nephew a few pages back. I got that one many, many years ago. For a long time, I have wanted to get another one, but was undecided on what to do. I wanted to be sure it was something that I wouldn't get sick of. My wife and I tossed around ideas for years, and finally she said - you should do a mountain scene. Boom. Why didn't I think of that earlier? I love mountain climbing, rock climbing in the mountains, hiking in the mountains - I just love the mountains.

So, I scheduled a consultation with the same guy that did my leg tat a couple of weeks back. I gave him the picture below. It is of one of my favorite mountains that I have climbed. I am going to have it done on my upper back. I go in for the outline on Feb 15. Pretty stoked for this one!

Back tattoos are a process .Mine took about 6 months to complete .and always asking for help with the ointment to put on it was frustrating . Thise mountains are beautiful .Good luck! Here is my last tattoo..was completed about a year ago .a viking rune... Which is a tribute to my Scandinavian heritage

How many hours did it take for that one?

Mine is going to be upper back, and it will be black/white with some highlighted color spots. Not nearly the size of yours. The tat artist said that he estimates 12-15 hours of time for mine - but I am wondering if he is low-balling me. I might ping him again and see if he really thinks that is a reasonable estimate. He told me it will probably be 2-4 hours for the initial outline, and then the remaining sessions will be for as long as I can sit in the chair.

Its been a while but if I remember right, it was 7 or 8 sessions, at about 4-6 hours a session. my artist works pretty fast, and I can stay in a chair all day.. I have fallen asleep before, LOL. But he likes to see a couple people a day, so only will schedule for a 6 hour block max for one person. breaks up his day as well as he can keep customers happy i guess.

What makes it easier is when they are big, the artist can work on one side, then the very next week, day or whenever, he can work on another side the the tattoo, and not touch where he was the week before. It allows him to get done quicker yet allowing at least 3 weeks for the skin to heal. I heal pretty quick and he doesnt wreck the skin either. I rarely scab over with my artist. Its a testament to his light hand.

Tribal cross I got 10 years ago when my grandpa passed away and my angel wings for when my wife and I lost twin boys. Also have my last name down my ribs on my right side. I want to do a 3/4 sleeve but wouldn't be as easy to cover for work...

I thought this one looked familiar! Bryan has done all my most recent work as well. He’s a phenomenal artist and always has some great ideas to take a piece to the next level. My new one isn’t even a week old and I can’t wait to get more work done by him.
