I also hate those people who are so in a hurry as to pull out right in front of you with no one behind you and commence to ease up to speed at their leisure while I'm doing everything I can not to end up in their back seat.

Those are the same people who pass you in the left lane, as you are going 5 or 10 over in the right lane with nobody behind you, get in front of you immediately, slow way way down and make a right. Why not just get behind me! Add no signal for a perfect use-the-horn scenario.

Love the DBags that like to use the shoulder as their own personal lane during rush hour and think that just because they their hazards on that makes it OK and legal.

I know that road well. Well enough to avoid it at all costs whenever possible. Especially around the turnpike. I think it was even worse when the air base was in full operation.

Very true, and this minimal insurance is a joke. The guy across the street was hit twice. Once by a guy that had minimum and then by a guy that didn't have any insurance. Pa. is a "no fault" state so he had to fall back on his insurance.

    • People driving w/their brights on (seems to be happening a lot more in the past year or so for some reason)
    • Speeding thru school zones
    • Driving slow in the left lane
    • Pulling out in front of oncoming traffic causing everyone to slow down
    • Blinker on and no turn in sight
    • Distracted driving (texting, putting on make-up, digging something out of the back seat, etc)
    • Slowing down and/or stopping on a highway on ramp (we don't have ramp lights here and traffic is rarely so heavy that you have to stop)
    • Not moving over on the highway when the person behind you flashes their headlights
    • Semi trucks that take up both lanes when construction zones are coming up and one lane eventually merges into the other
    • Tailgating on the highway
    • Driving at night w/o any lights on
    • People that aren't paying attention in the drive-thru lane and sit there when everyone in front of them has moved up
    • People that park in handicap spots w/o a placard
    • People that park right next to me even though I've picked a spot where no other reasonable person should park
    • People that pass me on the highway, then get in the right lane and slow down forcing me to pass them
    • Semi trucks that think it's a good idea to try and pass another semi while going uphill
    • People that seem to be lost and slow down for no apparent reason (no blinker, no turn, nothing in the road, nobody ahead of them, etc...)
    • At intersections, people that cut off my left turn lane when turning left from their left turn lane
    • People that stop when coming to the end of a highway exit ramp when there is no stop/yield sign

I was following one the other morning who had his foot on the brake for miles on the IH. Problem was it was hard to tell when he was actually breaking. One of mine is tailgaters especially when they have just changed lanes and know there is traffic in front. I give them a little time to back off. One this morning tested my patience and I did something that I have been thinking about for a while. I hit my LED cargo lights. Problem was when I did I did not realize that I also turned on both LED bars. About 10 miles later I thought the overhead signs looked awfully bright. I looked down and saw my switch lit up.

Maybe I don't get on the freeway enough but, the latest seems to be the 18 wheelers that automatically jump to the left and cut you off just because someone is coming down the on-ramp. I realize they are trying to be courteous but, crap, don't cut me off, let the other guy adjust his speed and friggin merge.

Truck driver here, and I don't like it either. Was stuck behind two Prime trucks trying to pass each other at 63 mph (that's all the faster they go) for almost 20 miles. Now mind you, I'm in a triple mph truck.... I'm glad I hardly leave the county any more.

This one actually has a purpose. It keeps the traffic in both lanes moving at the same speed, albeit slow, but at least moving. If not then the jack legs will speed to the front of the other lane and eventually lead to a pissing match causing accidents.

No it's not. Their tractor is their house. They have to obey the rules of the road just like everyone else and they're held to a higher standard because of their danger to everyone else's travel. Watch what happens when someone tries to go around them in that situation. They try to run them off the road. Ask me how I know. It's happened 100% of the time. So don't give me that schpeal about how they're trying to make things better. Bull-fucking-shit.

Yep, you're 100%. Another version of this is, if you're in a car or pickup and have drivers nearby that are paying attention to what you're trying to accomplish, you can actually get totally into the left lane, cruise the same speed as the right lane and they'll let you back into your spot in line at the last minute. This really pisses the jackwads off. You can see them screaming and flipping you off. I just give them a nice wave. This pisses them off even more.

I'm not here to get in a pissing match with you. After having been an OTR driver for a few years I have an appreciation for what they do and have to put up with on a daily basis. Granted, not all semi drivers are professionals and there are lots of bad apples but don't group them all together as road menaces. That's like saying all cops are bad because a few might be on the take. Give them their space and respect the road yall share and you will both get home safely. Try to pick a fight with a semi and you are likely to lose.

Some truckers like to do this on the PA turnpike in hilly western PA. Backs traffic up like crazy.
On the other hand, when a trucker is hauling ass downhill in the left lane, passing everyone, you should get over to the right and out of his way. I do. I think a lot of people don't see them. It's amazing the people who have no idea what that mirror hanging from the windshield is for.

Much respect to you sir. I drove a tanker for a little while and if you've ever tried to stop one of those while fully loaded then you know how liquid surges forward and pushes you. Brakes are useless at that point and if you are hauling fuel then that adds another level of sphincter pinch.

I too ran tanker. Water from the gas wells and propane.

I still do this to this day. Take and carry a piece of chestnut coal with you. And when you get into these stickie situations, insert said piece of coal into sphincter, and when it's all over you have a diamond. My wife loves them, except they smell like shit!

I used to go to both Cup races at Dover each year. We sat up high in between turns 3 & 4. Great seats! That was back in the day when the whole place was packed with 138K people. On race days, it's the 2nd biggest "city" in the state. Gave up the tix because it got to be such a PITA to get out of the area even when we parked remotely. 8 hours to get home was just too much for me when I can do the trip in 1.5 hours on non-race days. And bus rides became too hard to get. It's a shame how many seats they've had to shut down due to dwindling attendance. and NASCAR has ruined the sport with all of their stupid new rules.
