What's up guys. I just put fender flares on my 14trd. They look great but now my truck has that cartoon muscle man look. Its not really in the budget to buy new wheels right now so I was thinking maybe use some spacers to set the factory wheels out a bit. Any input would be appreciated.

I love the look of my truck with the flares, but I've also considered doing a small spacer on the wheels. So I'm following this thread as well.

My worry is the truck will have a different "feel" to it with the spacers (bumps, shake, etc.). Anyone have these and can comment? Thanks..!

You won't feel any differences with a quality wheel spacer.

I ordered the 2" billet aluminum ones from venum wheels. Im kind of wondering if that might be a little much but I guess I'll find out when they get here.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I'd love to see some pic when you get it all together.

You have to consider if it extends out it might throw dirty water all over a clean rider. Spacers will add more stability though with a wider stance. But it will also widen your stance in the parking lot too.

This the look I want to get away from. Notice how wide it looks with the fender flares. Of course a leveling kit is next on my wish list.20160821_164252.jpg

I have the 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers from Toytec. No issues in over 2 years. Wouldn't go any larger and wouldn't buy from a non well known company. Spidertrax or Bora.

I second the Spidertrax. Had them on my 4runner and loved them. Check their website for seconds.

    Installed them today ...

only a couple of miles put on them so far. I don't feel any thing different with how she rides. Will update next week.

I have a leveling kit installed, just ordered my TRD Pro grille - would like to get a more aggressive A/T tire and wheel spacers installed... Did you ever get the 2" spacers installed? I actually like the stock wheels, but like you prefer a wider stance.. Any chance you have pics with the spacers installed? Any noticeable difference in handling or fuel economy?

I managed to install my spacers this week. However, my spacers are not 2" rather they are 1.25". Here's a few pictures of how that looks and hopefully that might help you.

I really like the way it came out. However, if you have flares ... I think a 2" spacer (+10 offset with factory wheels) is ideal.

    Good Luck,
    -Dave

I don't have fender flares and doubt I'll get them, but I do like the way yours looks now. Pair that with a more aggressive tire and I think it would look amazing. If you do get flares, in my opinion you should have them color matched. Just my opinion, however.

Ok they finally showed up and I put them on yesterday. I must say I'm pretty pleased with the look as well as the ride. Do note: with the 2" spacers there is a very slight rub on that far front mud flap/splash guard. Wich can be removed but its not bad enough to do so unless you have more aggressive tires than the factory Michelins. Also this will be eliminated with a leveling kit (my next purchase). So enough with all the blah blah blah...here are some pics

Thanks for posting pics Johnny, looks great. I'm definitely going to do 2" spacers.

I did the Toytec 2.5" coil spacers - I feel like the front still sits a bit lower than the back. I might do 3" if I had to do it over.

Thanks for the quick report. Not that I plan on going up to a 2" spacer, but I might someday get flares so knowing how much offset I need helps. Are you planning on rechecking the torque on your spacers? I found that after 100 miles mine had a lug (per wheel) loosen 5-10 psi. I'll probably do another recheck after another 500-1000 miles.

Yeah I will recheck them after I get a few miles on them. Did any of your lug nuts for the wheels liisen or was it just the lug nuts on the spacers? And what kind of lights are those on your truck?

The lugs I was mostly worried about are the ones holding the spacers on since those require the wheels to be removed to be checked. Doesn't make any sense to only check the ones holding the wheels onto the spacers if the spacers come loose. I'm betting that's where people who have had issues with spacers fail to check.

As for my lights ... I'm assuming you're talking about my Spyder headlamps or tail lights.

By the way, we have a Sky Silver picture thread out there. It would be nice to see you join us over there.

Yeah I can see where someone would make that mistake. I certainly plan to check them after 100 miles or so.

I thought those were spyder lights...they look pretty sharp.

Thanks, the Spyders took alittle time for me to really like them. I thought they looked alittle ricey before I mounted them ... (Especially the tail lights). But once I had them on and lit up, I started to like them a lot. Now I feel they don't look ricey at all and in fact make me stand out from 99.75% of the Tundras I see out there.
