    I guess this is a build thread, and will help me remember what all I've done to the truck. Goal is a capable truck for the OHV trails here in Tahoe, and something I can camp in when spring rolls around; looking at a Vagabond Drifter tent/camper shell thing with the usual fridge, stove, and possibly a heater.

    Tires

    November 2, 2018 2577 miles: Custom Truck in Reno, Nevada installed Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/70 R18 E-load on the stock wheels, which the sticker calls "18 inch split 5-spoke TRD off-road package alloy wheels with black accents". Anyone want to buy five Michelin LTX A/T 2 P275/65R18's with 2577 miles? :)

    Suspension
    November 2, 2018 2577 miles: Custom Truck in Reno, Nevada installed a lift and new tires. The front got new Icon VS 2.5" coilover shocks with CDCV (58750C) and Icon Delta Joint upper control arms (58460DJ), and the rear got the Icon rear leaf expansion pack (51200) and VS 2.5" shocks with CDCV (57720CP). I got Nitto Ridge Grappler 295 / 70 R18 E-load tires on the stock wheels, as well as the factory spare wheel (which they were able to fit barely in the stock spare location; I will move it once I get a dual swing-out rear bumper).

    Suspension Measurements, Before and After
    I took these measurements on a parking space that was slightly sloped toward the passenger side, giving the illusion of uneven side-to-side. Oh, and I had five tires in the truck bed that probably weighed it down a little bit. Bottom line: 3.75" lift in front, 2" lift in back, resulting in a fairly even rake and producing 3 5/8" clearance increase at the lowest center point in the front (subframe crossmember), and 1 1/4" clearance increase at the lowest center point in the rear (rear pumpkin).

    Ground to top of wheel wells (before,after):
    Front right: (37", 40 3/4")
    Front left: (36 13/16, 40 3/4")
    Back right: (39 15/16", 41 7/8")
    Back left: (39 7/16", 41 1/4")
    Ground to bottom of center of front subframe crossmember
    11" -> 14 5/8"
    Ground to bottom of lowest point of rear pumpkin
    8 1/2" -> 9 3/4"

    Purchase
    September 6, 2018 26 miles: Bought from Hometown Toyota in Ontario, Oregon! 2018 Tundra 4x4 Limited Double Cab, magnetic gray. Options: Limited Premium Package, TRD Off-Road package, TRD performance air filter, and some shitty $200 "TRD" floor mats that I didn't want. Rama the Ridgeback finally has some breathing space in the back seat!

    Thanks! More updates when I recover from the expense of lifting it!

    Hi there @goffredo !

    Great looking rig. I have been toying with the idea of keeping the stock wheels for now(or maybe keep them on regardless).

    Did you have any issues rubbing with the new tire size and UCA?

    I’m looking at the same tire size in the Falken wildpeak AT’s although those Nitto Ridge grapplers look great!

    Want to keep my build a sleeper as yours appears to be right now.

    Hello, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. There is a negligible amount of rubbing when I lock out the steering wheel left or right. It does not concern me at all. I just checked and I can't see where the actually rubbing is occurring so I might just be making it up in my head, but once the snow melts out a bit I'll crawl under and give the suspension and arms a thorough look for a telltale clean spot.

    Thanks for following up.

    I’m going for install tomorrow for the same tire size-hoping for no rubbing but should There be rubbing I’m sure I’ll have to do a BMC. All things I’ve considered when going to this size so we will see what happens.

    I dunno, I was prepared for shelling out for a BMC when I upgraded to these tires (which I call 35's, but which are actually like 34.9 I think) but the rubbing is so negligible that it doesn't bother me at all. And I'm pretty obsessive about these kinds of things.

    If on the other hand, the tires rubbed every time I pulled out of a parking spot or rolled a speedbump or something, then yeah I'd want to fix that. I guess I'd say drive it a little bit before you start hacking away at the frame, and don't believe everything you read in these forums about "it's totally not going to fit" or "it will totally fit" because I've found that anecdotal forum evidence doesn't always translate 1-to-1 to real life experience.

    I think you’re right on tire size. From the numbers I’ve seen (although doesn’t always match exact tire size) they’re about an inch narrower and a half inch shorter than a true 35x12.5.

    I always take stuff with a grain of salt here on the forums. What “fits” or “works” for one may not for someone else. There’s way too many variables to make it a true across the board source of information.

    I’ll follow up later today and let you know how this tire fits up.
