Bed sag help

I installed the decked system and the rear is now sitting lower than the front so I am looking for options to elevate the back. My current setup is a 3" readylift in the front and @Coachbuilder1 +2 shackles in the back (wish I would have gotten +3). In the warmer months I'll be putting my rooftop tent on and also have quite a bit of cargo in the bed when going camping, plus my dogs. Also, I just put on fox 2.0 resis in the back so rear shocks are good. Has anyone been in this spot and how did you fix? Thanks for helping!

 

I think an add-a-leaf or a new custom leaf pack would be best for you since you will always have a load.

 

I shouldve clarified that I don't always have the topper on and when it's off it should sit level. But yes, good suggestion if I always have heavy loads in the back.

It’s hard to have the perfect setup that works perfect loaded and unloaded. You could do bags with daystar cradles. Or timbrens that you remove when not loaded and replace with superbumps. I think it’s @JoshuaA that runs this.

they all can. You just need to spec it for them.

the thing is you cannot have a "do it all" leaf pack. You just gotta pick what you will be using it for for 80% of the time

 

What about Firestone airbags? I have read nothing but good things. I was hoping someone with that setup would also chime in.

 

I’ve inquired about that around here before. They are a good option. But if you want the truck to still articulate properly you will want the Daystar cradles and you need the lifted shim for them so they sit right.

I see @Coachbuilder1 also makes a spacer like the Daystar cradles. Anyone know the pros/cons to either?

WHat about SumoSprings? Would they work for this application?

I installed the airlift bags with integrated bump stops on the back of mine for towing a trailer. They work great. Unlimited adjustability based on load.

 

I remember when I was young, my oldest Brother borrowed my Fathers 1981 Buick Electra Estate Wagon to tow a fairly small 16 foot open hull boat. As the car began to sag, as he loaded the boat with gear, my bro decided to override the auto inflate adjustment system on the Buick(that did it's best to keep the vehicle level, automatically, with an integrated compressor)to level the load. He did this by using a jumper wire to force the compressor to run. I was maybe 10 years old, But I will never forget the EXPLOSIVE POP when he blew the bags out! The Buick drooped way down. Dad was pissed!

 

I have the firestone/daystars, a great setup for varying loads. I also installed the toytec shackles, i had to use the 1.5" setting because set at 1" the thickness of the cradle was adding 'preload' to the bags (even at 5 psi) and giving a rough ride in the rear. Really happy with the versatility of the combo.

 

Great, thanks! Are you typically loading up the bed or do you haul a trailer? How's the ride with airbags and no load?

 

I use my truck for both work and play and towing. With the shackles set at 1.5" and 3-5 psi in the bags the ride is pretty good (as good as E rated tires can...).

 

I used the Timbren on my 2012 .they were an easy install .with my bed heaped with fire wood they really made quite an improvement .When the bed is empty there not in contact with the frame. I was going with an additional spring but an old Yooper logger suggested these. Worked for me good luck!

 

I have the Firestone airbags. I also have a b&w gooseneck ball installed, so installing the airbags requires a small modification. With the gooseneck ball it requires a weld in place of a bolt. I ride at 45lbs loaded 15 lbs unloaded. I use to have the timbrens, IMO the airbags are much more versatile
