What are your favorite improvements, parts, mods, and new additions to your 1st gen Tundra?

 

Brake Proportioning Valve Adjustment. Raised the nuts higher and it shifted the brake power towards the back brakes. Best part it was free.

 

13WL brake caliper/pad swap. Did on a Saturday, took a few hours, some PB blaster, a hammer, and a Dremel. Also put new rotors on as well. All in was about $300 and if it keeps me from having to change my rotors every 20k miles it'll be worth it!

I would really like some of dirty deeds 12 hole injectors for my first GEN Sequoia. I think that would be the shit!

 

I keep reading about these injectors. Are they worth it? Not running a supercharger

 

From what I hear it’s just more of a pleasure to drive. Gain horsepower and I’d be willing to bet it might be more efficient.

I have not been a big fan of the brakes since first owning the truck.

Then I bought a pop up camper and towed in the rain. It made my stomach hurt.

I had compiled a few lists of parts to get from a sequoia or Lexus to retro fit the truck but would rather not piece a load of expensive parts together and still not have what I feel is a safe set up.

The calipers that will replace the stock set up go from 4 to 6 piston calipers on a larger surface area. I had replaced the pads and rotors with top of the line pads and rotors from Advance but still wasn't warm and fuzzy like it should be. At some point the rears will be converted as well but this is a goodly chunk of change for the moment and Tom the SOS guy says this should ease my pain. He even gave me a coupon code that made a difference.

 

BFG 34/10.5/17s and Trail Edition wheels.

Next is probably the Spintech muffler
Next is the Yellrbox speedo fixer
Next is the projector retrofit
Next is the Alpine head unit
Next is the "salsa verde" spare tire
The rest is just okay

 

Finally. Looking forward to a detailed review and some real world experience. Take plenty of pictures of the install.

 

Look into changing out the rubber brake hoses to stainless braided. This helped out my Sequoia quite a bit. I like the pedal feel. This isn’t the only answer for your issues but definitely a good piece to the puzzle. I used Stoptech

 

You gonna pull the intake to do that? It's not too hard. I'm getting good at it!

 

Thinking about just undoing the rails.

 

You'll need a 22mm wrench. A short one would be better. My full size one was cumbersome in there. And there's a 12mm nut holding a vacuumline onto the back of the IM running to the brake booster. A few other 10mm bolts and it'll be out. Make absolutely sure you get the washers for the pulsator back on right. It goes: fuel rail, regular washer, fuel line, weird washer, pulsator.

 

I’ve also heard those washers are easily lost and can slip off down into the lower engine/ground area. Thanks for the heads up info on bolt sizes.

 

Casper, what did you swap the JBL out for?

 

What size wheels are you running? I don't see anything on the site, but I suppose they won't clear 16" wheels.

 

Can't speak for Casper but I installed JVC speakers and stereo. It sounds much better but I really need a sub to complete it.
