    Flux capacitor!
Looks great! Is that a timber frame or post beam construction? It looks like Doug fur beams with cedar exterior siding.

    Done! :D
Still need one or two more loads. I’ll wait until summer after it settles.

We put down the geotec fabric then 1.25”.
It’s been driven on hundreds of times prior with the big 5 axle rigs. The guy I ordered the rock from had actually been to my place a few years back and recommended this vs putting down 2” or 3”.
If it was heavily traveled I’d do 3” then 1.25”, but my Kubota will be the main vehicle of travel on the road. The 5 axle truck today had no issues at all.

Thanks! I’m stupid excited over the rock!
I told the wife the roofing company wouldn’t deliver, so we had to build a real road. LOL.

I’ll probably have another load delivered tomorrow. I didn’t spread the right side as far back as I’d wanted to go.
Ran out of fabric. And that shit is expensive!

What are you putting on the front of the garage?
I see you used T111 on the sides.

It’s going to match the house - so Hardie for the middle portion and then Nichiha (not sure if spelled right) for the upper shake/shingles.
The bottom portion of all the other edges will be Hardie as well - to prevent the bottoms from rotting.
I would’ve went full Hardie on the T-111 sides, but this damn thing was originally a 16X8 tractor shed so I have to keep
A budget. The wife keeps reminding me of that. LOL

    Here’s a garage shot.
That belly band I think I need to paint the trim color, just haven’t got around to it. I’ll do the little design up in the eve as well. Right now I’m trying to decide how much Nichiha to use. The shop pitch is 7.5/12 and the house is 9/12 - so if I do the Nichiha just above the roof line like the house, I’ll have a lot more than I’d like. But if I move it up higher, there will be a bellyband about 1.5ft above the rail for the sliding barn doors - and I’m not sure if that would look funny or not.

Thank you very much! Yes, my wife and I’s dream since high school. This video is the day the wife and I pulled up to the property to look at it. I have no idea WTF I was thinking! LMAO!!! My little Kubota has moved thousands of yards of earth. I operated nearly every piece of equipment to get the place where it is.
And dug by hand every single tree/shrub/plant hole - I don’t like paying people to do something I know I can do. It’s just been a little nuts trying to maintain a marriage, while raising two young kids, running a business, and keeping the place together. After this shop I’m done for a while! Or I might end up without a wife LOL

Put the shop on hold for a bit.
Wife has been on my ass about a hot tub. We put some $$ down to hold one until we could configure the area it’s going in.
I told the wife to put her big-girls on (which she did) and her and I dug a decent hole today.
I’m thinking cinder block walls, but have to research how to build them. Any input is greatly appreciated LOL.
I’m laying gravel down tomorrow for the base. (Artic spas the MFG said gravel was fine as their shells are fiberglass and flex).
The tub is going in our last flowerbed that isn’t landscaped. We plan on putting boulders around the tub.

The white water line is just a drip line for that area. I need to cut it back and cap it off.

And yes. Our soil is rocky as F!!!!

Since it's just starting to get cold here in Louisiana today I wrapped up some pipes and closed off some external vents back at the homestead.

    Flux capacitor!
I’ve got my steel guys installing a set of free floating stairs today. Electricians are installing recessed can lights for the porch. There will be a large fan centered on the ridge beam. F2024CC2-C848-4EF6-B79F-D1AAEA85F63B.jpg
I had 8”x12” Douglas Fir headers installed and 8”x8” post to support the ridge beam. My soffit guys will install 1”x6” cedar after electrical is all done.

After the stairs are installed I’ve got steel handrails going in next. Then paint and then stainless steel tension cables. The whole top deck and stairs will have recessed Trex decking. I’m having the Trex fastened from below the steel, so you won’t see any fasteners.
