So.o.o.o.o.... Filled up my barand new Tundra with big engine and big gas tank with 1/4 tank remaining. Put my 1st 500 miles on in order to begin towing next week. Almost all the driving was hiway driving, except for maybe 20 or 30 miles. Had 515 miles on the truck and put in 24.8 gallons. Didn't top off the tank when the fuel pump stopped. Is this truck special or what? Dealer told me that 85 octane is just fine even though the owner's manual says to put nothing less than 87. He told me owner's manuals are "generic". $2.05/gl at Costco.... wow

Don't believe what the dealers salesman tells you. They make up answers they know nothing about.

Sounds about right on fuel economy for all highway.

    I use 87 octane.

The best my 14 Platinum 2wd Crewmax ever displayed was 15.3 but it had 4.30's in the rear. Ran like a scalded dog with a shotgun blast to his a$$

    Agree, light foot is key.

Checked round trip from NC to VA and back with less than 1000 miles on the Tundra:

    480 miles
23.25 gallons of 87 octane gas
    40PSI in all four tires
    20.6MPG

Can I use that " Ran like a scalded dog with a shotgun blast " quote? Not necessarily here... I did get 14.9 last weekend.
