Need help me with chrome decisions FAST!

Let me just start by saying, I know the majority DO NOT like chrome. I get it. LOL. But I'm a bit old school from back in the day when bumpers were chrome. And at times color matched bumpers still look odd to me although not bad.

Here's where you can help:

My truck was involved in an accident this week when the wife hit a deer. I now have the chance to change out the chrome on the front for color match parts but I'm undecided. Thing is, the adjuster will likely look at the truck on Monday and the body shop will then order parts so I gotta decide quickly.

I'm thinking about changing the surround to Inferno Orange and keeping the bumper caps chrome. I also like the honeycomb grill and plan to replace it with the same. If you've got pics of your truck like this could you post them? Especially if you happen to have Inferno so I can see what it'll look like.

Either way will look good. I personally like chrome and some color match also my front bumper is color matched and rear is chrome. I can appreciate the all color match also.

 

Hope the wife was okay. Sorry about your truck. It’s your truck do what ever you want. Can’t go wrong either way imo. I’m a color match guy. Looks cleaner. If any chrome. Just leave the bumper end caps. Think that would look good as well. Love that color you have. Gorgeous.

I also lean color match, but that's just the style these days. Do what you like. I still think Tundras with chrome bumpers, mirrors, handles, etc... look great when I see them. We have the best looking trucks out there, so just tweak yours to your personal preference.

I later color matched my endcaps and now I kind of miss the chrome ends

 

Do you have the odd 18 bumpers? Chrome in front color match out back? Mine does, not sure what toyota was thinking. I'm thinking of painting both bumpers black, color match and keep the honeycomb. I'm not a fan of chrome, but painted grill with chrome bumpers looks good

Chrome lives matter sets a nice accent to your ride chrome caps honeycomb grill solid choice.

 

Here is a slightly different take- color matched bumper ends and chrome grill surround. I’ll probably still play around with the colors, but I thought this was an ok compromise because I liked the color match but also don’t mind chrome.

Color Match!!!

 

I like @Prostar 190 setup. Color matched in front. Chrome out back. Best of both. I had my old rear chrome bumper plasti dipped in black. I liked it. I have a shiny new chrome rear bumper after getting rearended and I decided it's staying that way.

 

My Limited came with color matched rear bumper end caps, but has chrome in the front. I added the TRD Pro grille and kept the chrome front end caps, but will likely color match those in the future. Here's a picture, it's white, but should give you an idea.

 

I do like that look!! Been considering leaving chrome grill and color match bumper think yours looks awesome!!

 

And if you paint the Toyota in the grill white your truck will be that much faster.

 

To the OP. I prefer the look in the quoted post above.

I have the mis-matched bumpers. Painted rear, chrome front. I don't like it but not enough to change it...............yet.
If I was in your situation and had the chrome bumper ends front and rear, I would color match the grill surround and bulge only.
Not sure what Toyota was thinking on mist-matched front and rear bumpers like on my 2018 SR5 DC.

Now what this guy did to his front bumper ends is an option for me (cost and time effective) and I know he has changed it since then because I looked at his build thread.
He color matched his front bumper ends and left the chrome grill and chrome hood bulge. He already had the rear painted bumper like mine.
Mine also Blazing Blue Pearl.

 

Thanks for that post. I'm really starting to think I like the CM bumper caps and chrome grill. Here are a few pics. I've crudely cropped my grill into one and simply colored the bumpers in another. But you get the idea.

 

I used to be all about color matched....not so much anymore. I really dont care that much. A little chrome isnt bad.
