What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Has anyone ever painted or changed out the stainless bolt heads with black ones? I tried unscrewing one and it just spins...... do these come off or no?

 

Just installed the ignition amplifier (glow ring)

It’s a small addition but now I can see where to put the key without scratching all the plastic around the ignition key hole

 

What did you use for this?

I contacted @Roman from Cool Springs Toyota and he provided the link I needed with the correct part# for my truck.

It sets you back $114 bucks but it was a super easy install.

 

You have to remove the fender flare to change them out

Ya it must have something to do with the 2017 wiring. I paid the same as another few folks on here who have 2017’s

 

so which was yours for.. 2018 or 2017....?

My 2008 had the lighted ring. Not sure why it didn’t come with my 2017

 

Wanted to try something a little different than plastidip so installed TVD Premium Matte Black Emblem Inlay Decals. Looks great and sets nicely with the OEM Limited 20's I have on the truck. Nice price and and easy install so we'll see how they hold up.

 

You need to take off the fenders. It’s easy, like 8 screws inside the wheel well. Back fender has one clip on the very bottom that can be a pain to get out but it’s not hard.
I ordered the black flat painted fender screws from route66mods.com with the size being 5/16-18 x 3/8
It is a set of 40 that includes black washers. They are slightly smaller head but it looks nice! I can take a pic in sunlight tomorrow if you need but pic included for reference. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Bought the vent cover rings as well from them...buy 2 items and get free shipping. I haven't gotten around to installing them yet though.

 

I like those. I'll have to look at get those. If i can convince my banker(the wifey).

I did with bushwacker pocket style. I highly recommend if u do it go with having them powder coated. The rattle can I tried just wasnt gonna hold up.

 

How does it light? They make in red?

Yes contact bushwacker. They are the actual manufacturers of your flares. Tell them the rivets are rusting and u want to replace. They will send u new ones. Take them to get powder coated. Like @Jim LE 1301 said u need to remove flares to replace.

Get new get powder coated. Once p.c remove flares, take out old, put in new p.c. ones, put flares back on. That's the easy way, unfortunately I didn't do it this way. But trust me, that's the way to do it.
